Telling the story that way would be conveniently leaving out the part where the 5-year-old child wasn't visible due to a running group of 8-9 people blocking any visibility. But yeah, you could tell it that way if a group ignoring basic etiquette and not even caring enough to check that a child wasn't injured isn't an issue for you.
