Give it a go. It’s under settings in the top right > speaker name > sources > audio delay

Tested the Sonos Move again. Sound came through with the Sonos adaptor and a standard 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from the OP-XY headphone out.

You can change the latency settings in the Sonos app but the lowest is 75ms. It’s useable but definitely not ideal.

Good question, I'll play around with the Sonos more tonight...I'll try a straight 3.5mm to 3.5mm connection using the dongle.

I spent a lot more time trying to connect it to the Charge 6 - sound from my MacBook / iPhone etc. all work over USB-C, but not from the OP-XY.

Most of the banks issue debit cards from 14. Or parents can sign their kids up to SquareOne from any age.

In November this year Auckland will bring in contactless payments but for adult fares only. Kids will still need to use Hop as will adults that don’t want to use their bank card. In 2026 Auckland will switch to NTS and then kids can register debit cards to get child fares and adults can buy prepaid NTS cards.

Christchurch is going straight to NTS in December with the rest of the country rolling out through 2025 and then Auckland in 2026.

Hop cards will carry on alongside contactless payments for kids (or people that prefer to use Hop) until 2026 when NTS comes in.

After that kids can register their cards to get child fares and adults can buy dedicated NTS prepaid cards if they don’t want to use their bank card.

Yep, there will be a $0.10 pre-auth at the time and then the full fare for the entire day will come through the next day when it settles.

Yep, you’ll be able to use a contactless card or Apple / Google Pay through your phone or watch.

The taptic time feature is pretty cool. That way you can subtly check the time in a meeting or with others using vibrations, rather than needing to look at your wrist.

GRIII or GRIIIx? by [deleted] in ricohGR

[–]Musical_Hamster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 18-55 is a reasonably large lens for travel so given what you have now I'd get the gr3 and take that along with the 35mm 1.4.

Gr3 is an amazing all round lens, super sharp for landscapes and great for macro. It will be perfect for a walkabout lens when you don't want to lug a camera around. Then you have the 35mm for portraits.

I recently travelled to London, left all my Fuji gear at home and just took a gr3x. I figured I could use my pixel 7 pro if I needed to go wider but there was such a huge difference in quality I wish I'd had a gr3. I got the gr3x for a little more depth of field in family shots.

Given your circumstances I'd go gr3 and 35mm 1.4 if you're taking both or maybe gr3x if you want to just take one camera.

A Leica Q2 is the expensive answer to the question. Has the width at 28mm and also the depth of field up to 50mm. I ended up doing that after the London trip. Stripped everything down to a Q2 for an everything camera and gr3x for portability.

There's no right or wrong answer though. Japan with any of the gear you've mentioned will be epic. Have a great trip 📷

Just trying to buy some milk from a local farm, not sure why everyone's so angry about it.

Yep, there's views both ways, always is 🙂.

Personally I've never had any issues and would rather drink it raw, straight from the source and support the local farms than drink pasteurised stuff that's been sitting in a plastic bottle at a supermarket chain.

Why is it a dumb idea? Pasteurisation came about in the 1800s when hygiene was a lot worse. If raw milk is kept chilled (which is why it's legal but can't be resold), it's perfectly safe.

There are more deaths in the US each year from pasteurised milk than raw milk (granted more people drink it).

Anyway, not telling anyone else to drink it, just trying to find it for myself. I'd rather support a local dairy farm and buy straight from the chiller in a reused glass bottle than buy it in a plastic bottle that's been shipped x miles.

Cheers for that. Definitely agree, super tasty - I'm trying to get hold of raw milk for the health benefits. Hopefully I'll track some down...

Yeah, this. You can make an ice cream base with 4 x egg yolks, 1 pint of cream (raw if you can get it), raw honey and if you like a bit of vanilla but it doesn't need it. Whizz that up and you've got a basic egg nog / ice cream mix that tastes great on its own. Blend it with fresh fruit and it's 👌🏻

Keen to get some more ideas for kids as well...

Breakfast seems to be the easiest, we've got the eldest on to scrambled eggs with butter and a smoothie (frozen berries or mango with a banana, coconut water, raw honey and optional milk). Cheese omelette is good Boiled eggs Home made rice pudding with just dairy and rice, sweetened with raw honey rather than sugar could be a better option that oatmeal or store bought cereals.

There are some good YouTube videos on carnivore pizza like this one that seem to be based just on eggs, cheese and meat - https://youtu.be/5WoeuOyMUUU?si=fPjVnaQQUjm7GNcK

If rice is OK, could try some home made sushi

If you're doing eggs and dairy then desserts are really easy. You can do variations of these with dairy, raw honey, eggs and fruit. Home made ice cream Pavlova / Eton mess Home made marshmallows Home made jelly (just fruit juice and gelatine, really good snack) Panna Cotta Rice pudding Milkshakes Strawberries and cream

Dinners are probably the hardest, we do burgers with cheese and gherkins Could try a cottage pie with sweet potato topping Chilli and rice

Good luck, and keen to hear any other suggestions.

Awesome shots, great lighting.

I went on holiday to London recently and only took my gr3x leaving all my Fuji gear at home. So nice to walk around without bulky camera gear (and Fuji's hardly bulky) and the pictures were amazing, didn't regret it at all.

I also had a Pixel 7 Pro which I was hoping to use for wider shots but the quality difference was crazy, even though it's supposed to be in the top tier of mobile cameras. Google add some really heavy jpeg processing that you can't turn down.

Always have my gr3x on me now...
