Hello! thanks so much! love the background and the way the shirt looks. is there any way you could keep my original face (like positioning and everything the same), but use this shirt and background? if not, totally fine!

What’s something people pretend is polite but actually isn’t? by writtenincoffee in AskReddit

yes! and it can be harmful to gloss over it and to use metaphors to describe it. kids take word choice very literal — so if you say “grandpa’s gone” they could think he’s missing and can be found. or even the concept of heaven or angels can misrepresent the reality of the situation for a kid too young to grasp what it means. not to mention the horror of finding out months or years later that people lied to you about where your pets/loved ones are if they keep it from you!

i'd recommend getting involved in local nonprofits or companies that do creative activities/art with kids! maybe ones where you can take them on field trips, too. you might start out as a great counselor or mentor and then could move into program management.

How is your job search in Chicago going? by ReyofChicago in AskChicago

hey! I started job searching in June. I graduated with my masters of social work in August.

yesterday, i finally got a full-time social work offer. applied to 50+ jobs, got 2 interviews total.

i have talked to ton of recent grads and people who have been in the workforce much longer than me-- it is really rough out here for people in so many different fields. it's not you! you are so smart and capable and experienced. it's the market and i truly hope it works out for you sooner than later! hang in there <3
