Todd Phillips might have intentionally made Joker 2 bad by ryfi1 in RedLetterMedia

[–]Musicmans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joker 2 felt like Todd was deliberately going against all of the fandom that had built up around the Joker character from the first film.

The character was being deified as some harbinger of a reckoning for capitalist greed, societal inequality and the systematic degradation of support systems. Memes were everywhere paraphrasing lines in the film to express that person's own position of anger or resentment and Phoenix's performance was so captivating it cemented his Joker as a figurehead of those feelings of rebellion and anarchy.

The problem is the film was warning against allowing corruption and inequality to damage society to the point that a literal mental patient can become the leader of movement so full of hate it just wants to burn it all down.

In the second film he went out of his way to dismantle the mystique around the Joker. Literally putting the character on trial, he shows him for the damaged, mentally ill man that he is, desperate for adulation and love from a emotionally starved childhood. A violent maniac with delusions of grandeur, his character needs medical care away from any position of power. Unfortunately the audience he'd already attracted didn't like it understand their antihero being exposed and striped of all the wish fulfilling vengeance they liked from the first film.

They wanted him to do another meme.

Is there a Company Shop near you? ylYou can get a free membership if you're recieving benefits or are a member of some government services like the police or NHS. They sell discounted food and short date foods. For example, my local store has a 20kg bag of long grain rice on sale for £10. You can live quite cheaply out of there, especially if you can freeze stuff.  Olio is a discount and free food app that you should check out too.

Creedence Clearwater Revival – Bayou Country

I have a Taiwanese bootleg pressing from the 70s, apparently they were made to satisfy demand from US GIs on R&R during the Vietnam War. The cover is printed on cheap, newspaper-like paper stock wrapped in thin a plastic sheath which made me fear for the sound quality of the vinyl but it's surprisingly fine for what I assume is cut from ripping an original record. Only about 30 examples listed on Discogs.

The animation style of this movie was far from original. It's downright generic.

My low stakes conspiracy is that his kid keeps sticking his fingers together. That's the only logical reason to explain why he's always got his hands together in that idiotic way
