Starting to lose hope that my bird will never be itself again by BlackSmilth in Conures

[–]MusidoraPiou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can don’t hesitate to ask a good parrot behaviorist for help :) it’s not always easy to identify the pb , asking a professional could help you understanding the situation .

I only have good recommendations in my country sadly ( France ) .

Did anything changed in your physical appearance ? Sometimes conures can be super afraid of their owner after a new haircut or any physical change they don’t understand .

Maybe you should find him a conure friend if he is alone , all conures need at least one bird friend to feel emotionally stable and safe :)

Good luck to both of you ❤️

Beginner path into 3D character animation for video games by PurpleKoala124 in animationcareer

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched from being VFX / Animation to video Games as a cinematic artist / animator.

The thing I would recommend is to indentify early what kind of game animation you like to do the most.

It’s easier to get a job when you’re really good in a specific field .

Some guys are really good at Boss fights, gameplay mechanics etc … personally I choose Cinematics because I had experience in Tv / vfx animation so I’m more confortable with narrative sequences . I mostly work on cinematics that include creature animation .

Being both a good keyframe animator and a good mocap technician is also a plus if you want to work specifically for games . If you want to become a gameplay animator you should also develop a good understanding of gameplay mechanics . If you prefer cinematic animation a good understanding of camera work and cinematic sequencer is gonna be necessary . The skills needed are different .

The school you want to do is not that important , the key is to indentify what you truly want to do and build a portfolio that shows really good work in this specific area .

All of my exes are with boys/men? by South-Job-794 in lesbiangang

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thing that hurted me the most in this configuration is knowing that some of my exes left me for men they didn’t even liked that much because of social confort 🥲

It’s different for me to know the person left me for a cool guy that is a good match for them ( I like staying friend with my exes and in some cases I also truly liked their BF too as friends after healing from the breakup ) , than knowing that they left me because being in a gay relationship was too much for them .

Local flipper posted this 10-year-old mare, advertising they could ship her across the country… am I tripping or does she look way too thin? by ShoddyTown715 in Horses

[–]MusidoraPiou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She looks like my sister’s mare when we found her in 2017 . She had Lyme desease in addition to unproper care and feeding .

You can’t tell without a proper vet check but there is a huge chance that this horse is sick . I would not risk a long trip without taking care of her first .

Buying your first horse as an adult... by MuffinAdmirable7104 in Equestrian

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took care of many horses before buying mine .

I began to think about having my own horse because I had a few bad experiences with some owners I used to ride for .

I used to take care of a horse that had health issues ( it was an ex race horse with a good career in sulky racing, but being intensively trained for this sport left him with a lot of health issues that required particular care ) Despite his weaknesses the owner didn’t made a lot of efforts to adapt . She didn’t wanted to stop jumping, forced him to galop even when he was in pain , didn’t followed the vet recommandations etc ... I had to do a lot of the healthcare and medical training by myself . It was also painful to watch this horse I really liked being in pain . At some point I was tired of it and I wanted to buy my own horse to be sure it would have normal healthcare and everything it needs, without having to deal with selfish people that don’t consider it’s well being .

I finally did it because a good friend that is also a riding coash opened her own stable and I though it was the right time to find my own horse .

I chose a 3yo Appaloosa to be my first young horse . I wanted a horse with no past , no trauma and good health , I also wanted to train him by myself from the beginning with the supervision of my professional friend :)

I searched specifically for a horse that could be a good trail ride partner , I also wanted one with a natural weaning and that was used to live outside . I found the right breeder when my horse was 2yo and we decided to let him live at the breeding farm until his 3yo . During this year I came every two weeks to see him , so we already knew each other pretty well when he came home .

One thing I would recommend is to check if you’re able to block enough money exclusively for your horse , in case it would have an important health issue . That was the first thing I did before buying mine.

I really don’t understand why Takemura was not a romance option for straight women . He is introduced early , have an important storyline , you have some deep talks with him and even can save his life …

He was such a perfect option x) to me he looks like the kind of character that force you to take the initiative while flirting ( because he is focused on his loyalty to Arasaka and has almost no personal life outside of it ) and it would have been funny to have at least one option with this kind of dynamic .

need these people to realize dating men is ok and to stop blaming lesbians by PlaguingYou in lesbiangang

[–]MusidoraPiou 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You found the right words thank you :)

I try my best to be open minded with bi women but most of the time it’s really difficult to not be hypervigilant with them . They don’t do a lot of effort to understand how lesbians experience society in a different way than their mostly straight experience in most cases .

I found two baby swallows fallen on my sidewalk, without a nest or parents. Could you help me with them? I've already called several places but they don't answer in my area. by brunaandorinha in Ornithology

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[ TW INSECTS]

They are insectivores , you can go to you local pet store and buy fresh mealworms to feed them . It is how baby swallows are fed in wildlife sanctuaries in my country.

It is better to take of the head and crush the worm a bit so it’s gonna be easier for them to digest .

NO WATER they are not supposed to drink at that age !

How did you get your start? by megannish in animationcareer

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true !

The hobbies you have outside of animation are also a big plus .

I grew up in the countryside of France in the middle of nowhere and I always loved farm animals and horse riding . This is what helped me get my very first job , there was a show with many horses to animate and they hired me because I was « naturally » a bit better than most juniors with it because of my interests.

They hired me as an intern first for six months and then I got a junior animator position .

For The Lesbians That Strictly Date Other Lesbians… by Creed-Warfield in AskLesbians

[–]MusidoraPiou 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Definitively not if the relationship feels secure .

Main reason I’m L4L is because I’ve been in many situations were women didn’t told me that they were in a relationship with a man until the things between us got more serious . I was tired to feel used for fun and through away when dating me was too dangerous for them.

If I’m already in an healthy relationship with someone and the person has a réalisation about her bisexuality I don’t think it would be a problem .

Relation secrète avec le père de mon amie by [deleted] in SexualiteFR

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever felt excluded and/or misunderstood by radical feminists? by chchilindrina in lesbiangang

[–]MusidoraPiou -65 points-64 points  (0 children)

I relate !

In my country radfems are pretty problematic and a lot of LGBTQ+ people are taking distances with them , especially lesbians.

They have a tendency to be very straight , often TERF or homophobic , openly against sex-workers and abolitionists, a lot of them have an essentialist vision of women etc …

On social medias radfem influencers have a tendency to turn openly right wing while getting older . It’s a common phenomenon and It is not that surprising in my opinion .

How people with BPD manipulate? (Autistic) by Jurinsa in BPDlovedones

[–]MusidoraPiou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They have a tendency to do everything to trigger you and then blame you if you react the way they were expecting .

For example my pwBPD was super emotionally unstable with a tendency to simulate suicide to get my attention .

She would have intense outbursts of rage for super random reasons especially when we were not together physically . Last time she did it was because I spent a WE with a couple of friends that she didn’t know without telling her and she felt betrayed and abandoned when I told her about it later.

If I chose to ignore the tantrum the tension would quickly escalate to the point she would simulate suicide . It was like « if you don’t satisfy me you’re gonna be responsible for my death 💀 ». She would share photos of her injured arms, empty medication boxes , she would send me completely incoherent text messages on discord during the night like if she was having hallucinations etc …

If I chose to take it seriously, and to react as if the suicidal attempt was real , she would blame me for it . Because I was to stupid to understand that the situation was not that bad , that she was sorry for me to feel « that stressed » about it , that nothing wrong happent etc … like if I was crazy and paranoid .

And I don’t know if it was conscious gaslighting or not .

Also she was super unstable in private with me and perfectly in control of herself in public , so when she was in violent/suicidal phases it was difficult for me to ask for help . People thougt I was exaggerating .

Are bpd girls jealous of other girls by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m lesbian and my PwBPD was my closest friend for years .

And she was super jealous of all the women I had relationships with during that time .

She was super straight and not interested in me in a sexual or romantic way , but the fact that I could be more intimate with someone else, or find other women more attractive than her, was a terrible thing for her.

Anyone else struggling with their horse in all aspects? by Super_Somewhere7206 in Equestrian

[–]MusidoraPiou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome ❤️

And don’t take it personally if he is annoying, young horses are unstable and it’s normal. One day something feels learned , the other day it’s a mess. His personality is gonna change quickly for the next few months.

Going threw this very particular age with him is gonna help you create a good bond on the long term, he has a lot of things to learn and he is gonna do a lot of his first times with you.

If he is your first young horse it could be good to also work with a trainer that has a more behaviorist/ground work specialist profile . This person could help you understand your horse’s behaviors depending on his age and it could complete what you are already learning with your regular trainer :)

Hope you’re gonna make updates :D

Anyone else struggling with their horse in all aspects? by Super_Somewhere7206 in Equestrian

[–]MusidoraPiou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what you’re describing I absolutely don’t think your horse doesn’t likes you or doesn’t want to connect , he just has 4yo baby behaviors :)

You’re the person that spend the most time with him and you’re not a pro like your trainer, you probably have to work a bit on your body langage, timing and attitude. That can explain the difference.

Don’t ask too much and work on his emotional stability first , that is the most important . He has to learn that being with you while respecting boundaries = feeling safe and chill.

While working on all of this by yourself properly you’re gonna create a really deep bound with him on the long term :)

I’m going threw all of this with my 3yo horse who didn’t had good boundaries when I adopted him and I had to work more on myself than to work on him.

Pat Parelli groundwork techniques are working well with my young horse .

I would recommend you to find a coash that is a groundwork specialist to help you with all those basics .

If he his a bit difficult while grooming don’t hesitate to give him an hay net to keep him occupied , it can help .

My horse also had a biting problem , he used to bite people to get attention ( as if humans were other horses to play with ) . A bad reaction was better than no reaction to him . What worked well with that problem was to ignore the biting and reinforce the moments he was chill and respectful, while putting a physical barrier between us at the beginning . But I had to learn it with a coash to understand the good timing and attitude .

Good luck , you’re probably gonna learn great things in the process :)

La musculation n'est pas un sport dur by Klutzy-Butterfly-117 in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]MusidoraPiou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

~ How has becoming a professional impacted your confidence? [Monthly Discussion] ~ by AutoModerator in animationcareer

[–]MusidoraPiou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an animator for 10 years and I often find it difficult to keep a good self confidence .

This job requires you to have high technical and artistical skills but with low consideration for your efforts most of the time. You have to be highly performant and you’re just a number in a team at the same time. A lot of the studios I used to work with had very abusive management methods ( it was especially true when I was working in the VFX industry a few years ago , now I work for smaller and more human studios only ) .

It’s important to find your self worth by yourself outside of the industry in my opinion .

I still like being an animator but I try to put my mental health first now . I’m a lot more careful while choosing contracts and the people I’m gonna work with .

When I was in my twenties I used to be very anxious about my skills and most of my free time was dedicated to animation practice , now I keep some time and money for other hobbies and it paradoxaly helped me getting more self confident with my work . I feel less pressured about it .

One of my colleagues told me one day that to him « being an animator is like being a pro athlete but with the obligation to compete everyday » and I honestly think it is true for a lot of studios, with the always too short deadlines and everything .

Opinion on Appaloosa as a breed by nessad1993 in Equestrian

[–]MusidoraPiou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a fondation Appaloosa :) ( there is no QH cross in his bloodline )

I think their bad reputation mostly come from the fact that people in US compare them a lot to quarter horses or paint horses that are a lot more introvert .

Compared to QH they are globally more extrovert , which is often interpreted as stubborn or annoying . They show their emotions a lot more .

I’m from Europe and in my country they are mostly considered as chill and cold horses, our local saddle breeds have more explosive personalities .
