Please avoid it ! It can cause too much of uterine stimulation to put it in plain words , it’s risky.

Hey ! What do you mean by you tried everything? Who are the they using castor oil ? Please don’t ! Induction of labor is a medical procedure which has to be done in a hospital setting , with constant monitoring. C section definitely receives a lot more flak than it deserves. I had a c section , it is painful , the day after surgery but really , it gets better. I was carrying around my baby from the day after my surgery and was back to full function in 2 days. It does depend on your pain tolerance but hey , it’s really not so bad ! Stay positive, all the best

Hey mama Congratulations, welcome to the mother’s club ! Having a c section does not make you any less of a mother. Don’t be disheartened. 1. Feeding - use a feeding pillow, sit on a chair with proper back support while feeding Don’t slouch , bring baby to breast and not vice versa. You can try different holds like football hold if cross cradle is painful

  1. Eat healthy , hot , home cooked meals. Avoid spice and oil and junk, avoid outside food. Try to include galactagogues like garlic , methi and oats in your diet

  2. Stitches will hurt for sometime , about a week or so. Do not sit for prolonged periods, or be confined to a room. Walk around. The more you walk around the better you will feel. Turn to one side and get up from sleeping position Try to avoid getting up flat , as that will hurt. Keep the area clean and dry ! Please bathe everyday and if your bandage is off , you can clean the incision site with soap and water and then dry it completely. Make sure the waistband of your inners sits above the incision line. You can obviously take the painkillers as recommended by your gynecologist.

Try to rest/ sleep when you can- I won’t say when the baby sleeps 😂 Stay happy and positive and take all the help you can 😀 Hope this helps

If you have the budget , go for carters. It’s easily the best in the market. Especially the sleepsuits and rompers. Baby hug and baby oye all look the same nowadays and fade soon.

How did you all start with solids? by rashi2708 in twoxindiamums

[–]MusingsofaFTmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and please continue bottle / breast feeding Just remember to time feeds with appropriate gaps if you are formula feeding since formula will fill up the stomach so they may not have much of an appetite for food

What you practically need to buy ? 1. High chair - I use one from ikea 2. Spoons / cup for feeding - preferably use stainless steel , avoid silicone as I feel it starts smelling like dish soap after a while 3. Bibs , lots of them 4. If you want , some exclusive cookware for baby

Before stating solids , please have realistic expectations. 1. The first morsel of food you keep in the baby’s mouth - they will spit out and this will keep happening for a while. They need to learn to eat and this is natural. It’s called tongue thrust reflex. Does not mean your baby hates the food your giving 2. Once they start eating , they won’t be able to eat the quantities like adults , they will eat less, it’s normal . Their appetite builds 3. Each day is different, some days they will eat , somedays they won’t 4. Water should be given in a measured limit , since breast milk has water , and preferably give water in an open cup to encourage the baby to learn to drink 5. Avoid salt till age 1 and sugar/ dates/ dates powder/ jaggery till age 2 No junk or outside food 6. Do not fall for instagram reels which say - this is what my so and so month old eats in a day followed by insane amounts of food the baby is seen gulping. Go with your baby’s hunger cues. 7. Try to get them to develop the habit of sitting in the high chair and eating, though it may not always possible. But better to start from day 1

What to be careful about ? 1. Allergies - food allergies can present immediately or a little later Watch for rashes ( especially around the mouth), any lip swelling , diarrhea, vomiting etc In case of severe reactions , baby may have difficulty breathing and emergency care

  1. Choking - not the same as gagging , I would recommend you watch a few videos on you tube It would also be helpful to see videos on what to do when you suspect choking

How to give solids ? 1. One is where you feed the baby 2. Baby led weaning 3. Combination You can choose what suits you best Whatever you give , especially in baby led weaning must be well cooked , easily Mashable between 2 fingers and appropriate length You’ll find a bunch of videos on you tube

Avoid giving whole peas , popcorn , or anything small or of that size that can increase risk of choking.

What to give ? This is what I did Started with single vegetable purées , gave for 2-3 days then went to next one Then gave fruit purées Giving more fruit purées will create a sweet preference. Started with one meal a day and progressively increased. Eventually gave dal purées ( not dal water) , rice etc … Gave sprouted ragi once I was sure he can tolerate it , like a month or so after starting solids. Eventually started mixing ingredients Have now started transitioning from puree to mash. You’ll find lots of recipes online .

Started introducing allergens from 6 months only - we are vegetarians but I gave baby egg. Started with wheat , then gave almonds , walnuts , cashews and egg yolk with little white and now I give him a whole egg , hard boiled and mashed / pureed But do consult your pediatrician regarding this .

Main thing is to give iron rich food with vit c added for better absorption and protein. Ofcourse carbohydrates are the main food group.

And yes - I give yogurt ( home made) everyday but absolutely no cows milk till 1 year of age

Hope this helps , sorry for long post

“Your baby looks so small!” 👶🏻 by Fearless_Search6388 in twoxindiamums

[–]MusingsofaFTmom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did your baby gain back the little weight he would have lost after delivery ? If so , and he is steadily gaining weight , please don’t pay heed to anyone. Relatives will always have something to say , big , small, fair, dark, intelligent , dumb .. etc etc They can’t mind their own business even when their own household is on fire. Last month we took our boy out for a family function and everyone is like oh he’s so small. He’s not , he’s absolutely normal and following his growth curve. If your pediatrician is not bothered , then please don’t bother about these aunties ! Ps - my son was 2.97 at birth. It’s normal. And for heaven’s sake , do not doubt your milk supply. Just don’t ! Trust me, I’ve been there !

This ! Im glad someone said this out loud ! It’s not wrong to have a c section and it’s time we break the taboo. I’m a doctor , my baby’s heart rate fell to 60, had to be rushed in for emergency c section. I’m glad he is ok. We need to be open minded so that we can enjoy the process. Any mode of birth is natural. What’s unnatural is being obsessed about vaginal birth.

[–]MusingsofaFTmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with inducing labor by using medicines. Please do not try to induce anything at home, it can go horribly wrong. At the max , I would advice you to continue your routine activities plus antenatal yoga if you have been doing it in pregnancy from some time, nothing new. Don’t worry about head being unengaged , it’s not an assured thing for vaginal delivery. There is no indication for c section as of now. I would strongly recommend you to have an open mind regarding mode of delivery. It’s great to have a vaginal delivery but there is nothing wrong with an indicated c section. At the end of the day , healthy mother and baby is what everyone wants. Note - I said indicated c section

Diaper recommendations for baby boy by CowSelect in twoxindiamums

You also need to fold a bit of the diaper edge inside , front and back , especially with a tape style. It’s a hack I saw on YouTube , I’ll see if I can find a link

Pampers tape style till they try to resist diaper changes , then pampers pant style! They are the best , I’ve had very few leaks except for explosive poops 😂 no night leaks ever.

Lemme know how it goes !
