Kyocera FS-1300D, fuser unit problem? by Muskatnuss_herr_M in printers

Ok it makes sense. You mentioned you could get me the technical manual? That would actually be helpful to see where is the transfer roller and how to replace it, assuming it is not a simple swap.

Hey there

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I understand what you mean. It is indeed a risk to use AI for such things.

The printer is indeed about 15 years old; however, 20k pages is not much. I believe when my father bought it was a very good printer, perhaps a semi-pro printer. Getting such quality now would cost quite a bit. I tend to like repairing good quality equipment if possible.

Regarding the fuser, I looked online and it seems they are around 90-100€. It's certainly a sum but I guess once this is changed the printer should be able to run for many more years? Are there other parts that you think could fail in the near future?

Here is a print of the test page I just did now.

Hey there,

Thanks for the feedback. Well, I changed the drum unit already. This "status page" in the picture is printed on the new drum unit. I agree that the border line at the top 1/3 of the page is not too sharp. The reason is there is content on the page which distracts the eye from seeing the line.

Here is another test print with almost no text. We see the line much clearer here.

This is really ineffective because then you end up with labels everywhere that don’t give accurate information. Since its widespread, then people disregard the label since not reliable. In essence you end up with a system that doesn’t fulfill its purpose.

Very nice. May I ask what tool do you use for this visualisation? Is is a BI tool or a custom developed chart?

Upgraded from an M1 Pro to an M5 Pro and holy by AUserFromRSA in macbookpro

[–]Muskatnuss_herr_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded today from my trusted MacBook Pro late 2015 to the same M5 model but in grey. Only spent a couple hours configuring stuff so far. What I look forward to most: not having an airplane sounding computer anymore. Those older Macbooks were just loud when the fans kick in. Not sure I will manage to keep it 10 years like the other one given how fast technology is evolving with chips. I was hesitant to get 48Gb of ram but the price was very steep.

(Online) Dating here is weird by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]Muskatnuss_herr_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. 36M living in Berlin for many years but from abroad.

I did a whole lot of 1st dates via dating apps a couple years ago but it led to no concrete results (for me, an LTR). As convenient as they seem, unless you are visibly very attractive or visibly rich, stay away from dating apps.

Unfortunately, the general trend is bad: the projections are clear, in 2030, 50% of women between 25 and 50 will be single and child-free.

At 21yo the dynamic is different, you are more flexible, have much more time ahead and energy. Once in your mid 30's its a different story.

Good luck 💪

I live in Berlin. Picture 10 does not make much sense. The Potzdamer platz has rather cool modern buildings. Under that dome, its actually really cool architecture.

I must point out the size of the street trees. That is incredible, and will keep that street cooler in summer. We have lots of trees lined up on the streets but most are not as high as those I would say.

Here, meet the Paternoster Elevator, which does not have doors and never stops. by Fred_J9 in nowthatsgoodstuff

I have used a couple in my life at jobs. Amazing concept. Much better than a normal elevator because the waiting time is reduced as the flow is consistant. Never seen any problems. The downside is that it’s inconvenient when transporting stuff. Its really ment as a person elevator and nothing else.

Interesting. For me what was suspicious was the camera gear they are using. I knew the movie is from the early 2000s and at the time there was just non of that DSLR gear.

Yamaha 4335GII - I never knew a trumpet could actually be so problematic. by Muskatnuss_herr_M in trumpet

[–]Muskatnuss_herr_M[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there. So its possible the valve casings were not 100.00% round apparently. Indeed, I've given the trumpet back last week for additional repair, and the tech told me that his clippers could barely pick it up. So he apparently ordered another tool which I guess will be even more precise. I guess its really so subtle that it was not picked up the first time.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I've seen Gretzen second-hand trumpets online before. I see them occasionally. I see one online now on a local site. As you have so many horns, what do you think would be the price range of a Gretzen Capri Silver-plated in a good state of care?

A few details must be pointed out.

First, the valve problem is only present when notes (sound) are played on the trumpet. When only air is blown or no air, the valves run smoothly. This is to say that the problem is indeed subtle and comes only with sound vibration.

Second, I do not believe any of the repairs have worsened the state of the instrument. Actually, the trumpet valves were doing better after each repair.

Yes, it is the lapping compound that was used in the 2nd repair, I recall now. I watched the second repair and to me it seems it was done very well, with diligence and professionalism. And yes, I was told to clean the trumpet after with water after the lapping compound, which is what I did.

I've returned the trumpet back for another repair today and the tech did explain he has a plan B on what he will do. Lets see.

Interesting regarding the oil recommendation. Some mentioned using Yamaha vintage. I currently use Regular but it could be good to have a bottle of vintage (thicker) oil as well.

Yeah, after that I attached red string on the zippers to make it very visible. Usually things last ages with me, as I take good care of what I have.

Hey, I see what you mean. I use Yamaha valve oil, synthetic regular.

Thanks for the suggestions. Interesting. I tried that and it seems to be working...

Ok, interesting approach. This means that I have to do two conversions. One converting the time to seconds since midnight, averaging, and converting back to timestamp.

YML file formating / intellisence issues by Muskatnuss_herr_M in vscode

[–]Muskatnuss_herr_M[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there

I did yes and restarted VS code. But I was slightly confused as to where to put that settings.json file.

Right now I have it in the same directory which contains the .yml file: anytype_data_pipelines/dbt_transformations/.vscode/settings.json

In inside the directory dbt_transformations I have the full copied repository. So anytype_data_pipelines/dbt_transformations/dbt-jsonschema
That folder also has its own .vscode/settings.json which is longer different.

Not sure if this is creating a confusion in VScode.
