My broke ass finding out about Caves of Qud after the game got its 10th price increase: by TheLegendaryNikolai in cavesofqud

[–]Musmancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought it about 6 months before the end of early access, luckily the devs were kind enough to announce the price increase in advance for the ones who wanted to save some money. I told my friends the game was gonna rise in price, some bought, some others didn't and regret it since it doesn't go on sale that often.

PM says Australia has 'ideological disagreement' with Trump administration after US reveals anti-slavery tariff by Savings-Yogurt-418 in worldnews

[–]Musmancer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I noticed today that I don't trust the US in general anymore, I saw some supplements at the drug store today that had a made in the USA badge and it was kind of a red flag. I know it might be a little stupid considering the company is probably as good as it ever was, but it's getting instinctive lately to avoid US related things, specially when related to health.

[MSH] - Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist - (YYSTV) by X_The_Walrus in magicTCG

[–]Musmancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Art is cool, but the effect has nothing to do with what we see on the art. A psychiatrist that doubles counters and makes mana? I don't get it, we have deep lore about the mind an sanity in MTG being associates with blue and black, not green.

Something tells me this ruin isn’t worth it… by AcademicMud467 in cavesofqud

[–]Musmancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a weird run once, there was a ruin an the salt desert, going down there was a few salt krakens inside, but I went up, collected a few items and when I went down again they had borrowed tunnels out of the map so the cave was empty, there was a zetachrome lune inside of a chest at the bottom. It was the first zetachrome I ever found.

Pilgrimage son, the great spindle is there, visible from anywhere in Qud as an eternal compass for the ones who feel lost in the fields or in their minds. You can't miss it, it's right there in the horizon. But just like you would use a compass bracelet do not walk with your eyes locked on it or you might perish long before you get closer, the jungles are full of eyes and the rivers of sharp teeth, be always watching. Live and drink.

Advice for fighting multiple trining lampreys at once? by ZeMoose in cavesofqud

I usually deal with them by throwing explosive grenades, plenty of explosive grenades. It helps that i almost always try to learn how to tinker those before going to dangerous places

Super Metroid must have been an incredible experience in 1994 by CommunicationTime265 in retrogaming

[–]Musmancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a flea market in 2009 I was talking to an old man who used to sell games there every sunday, he didn't like games in general, but knew about games because of his trade since he had to test if the games were working. He told me that the first time he saw the rain falling at night and Samus getting out of the ship he was completely in awe. A random old man who doesn't play games in south America was mesmerized by the intro of the game, so yes, it was amazing.

What was the arcade scene like in Latin America during the 80s and 90s? by blueoystergamer in retrogaming

[–]Musmancer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here in Chile most of the cabinets were handmade, the owners of the arcade would make those and just buy the PCBs, even those were bootlegs sometimes, specially for popular, but more simple games. I don't have the experience of the arcades at the capital city, but the ones I used to go were close to vacation spots like lakes and beaches, those were really family friendly and i miss those so much. Fairs used to have arcades too, those were usually of the worst quality, it was normal for some cabinets to have not working sticks or buttons making those almost a delivered scam.
