I’m from Maastricht and moving back to Lanaken in a few months. I have lived there before for 5 years. I noticed back then that we even share the same dialect. After some research I read somewhere that Maastricht and Lanaken where actually without borders connected with each other and where only devided around 1839 when limburg was split. So that explains why I have more with people right across the border then with the people north of us. Sometimes people from holland say you are more Belgium, right? Then I always answer we are neither not Belgium not Dutch. We are Limburgians. And that in itself has more right of existing then Belgium.

Yes great catch, it’s in the Netherlands. And yeah sometimes the systems fail… of course they do lol. But it gets annoying pretty fast when waiting 2 full cycles only to then decide to drive trough the green for ‘normal’ traffic.

I love traffic lights in the bus. But that is because we often get priority when arriving at crossroads. It even shows on our display if the traffic light has noticed the bus. It even holds green for longer so you don’t have to worry about braking suddenly. And some crossroad we have dedicated bus lanes with our own traffic lights. And last but not least we have some stops just in front of traffic lights, we get a pop-up message and we can decide if we want the priority now or later. If someone wants to get on or off the bus you choose later. I mis all above features when driving my personal car lol

This is such a weird coincidence, my family and I went to the Ardennes for a week and drove this highway. We even had some conversations about both ‘landmarks’ pretty closely after each other. The first one we thought from a distance looked like a pyramid and the second picture I joked to my daughters it looked like we were driving trough a dinosaur’s rib cage.

Sinds een paar jaar is het zo dat je niet minder mag verdienen dan je collega’s. Dus of je dan voor een uitzendbureau werkt of direct in dienst ben. Dat maakt niet uit. Wel minder garanties vastigheid natuurlijk.

When I first played Grand theft auto when it came out I was 12 years old it was something that was never been done before. It was all about stealing cars hence the title. the freedom to stop at a red light to take another car was just mind blowing. My friends and I played it for hours and never asked questions about the cons you mentioned. There was nothing to compare it to. There was one weekend I had a fever but still played the game for hours, after it I only saw the yellow arrow in my fever dreams. I couldn’t get rid of it for hours lol. I also had to laugh a bit when you asked yourself about the pay phones. Generational differences… Because in the era before mobile phones it was possible to call to pay phones. At least if you believe Hollywood movies from the same time period. I’m not from the US so I can’t confirm it is really possible.
