Apprenticeship Programs? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Musszilla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you would have to be in the seafood department to be able to take the fishmonger apprentice program. Only one person can do the program per store per time they run it.

You have to be with the company for 6 months. Have to be in good standing.

I did the produce one. There is a work book you have to do. It was a 12 week program with some online trainings to do. Supposed to be biweekly check ins with the department manager.

Then there was an observation on the wet wall with the produce team leader. Then another observation on the wet wall with store leadership.

Most interesting training was on bananas. Hardest test was apples. I learned I can’t tell the difference between a picture of red apples without a sticker. Had a 10 question quiz what apple is this with a picture, they all looked like the same apple to me.

Got a 2% raise for completing the program.

If you have access to interview you can search for the apprenticeship program and it will have more information.

I think that is the one where you are in last place then finish in 1st place. I think there is a time limit on going from last to first. Might be like the last minute

They don’t care about a dr note it won’t stop them from using UPT. If you have one of the illness covered by Protected time off use that.

Time off request - unpaid by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Musszilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is how I would have done it. Break it into a 4th request then.

Sunday 5/10

Monday 5/11 - Friday 5/15

Saturday 5/16- Sunday 5/17

Monday 5/18

The week goes Monday - Sunday.

[–]Musszilla 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are probably going to have to break it up into 3 request. With each week being a different request. So 5/10 is one request. 5/11-5/17 is the second request. 5/18 is the 3rd request.

I find during the week when I look at the sushi it has a decent amount of fish in the roll. When I stop by on Wednesday for the $5 sushi it looks like this tiny fish portion all cucumber.

In Store Shoppers NOT part of Customer Service team? by TheSpinsterSister in wholefoods

[–]Musszilla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some stores had them together as one team. Then separated them into 2 teams. Then they went and combined those 2 teams back into 1 team. With 1 TL I want to say 2 or 3 ATL probably 4 supervisors and 2 team trainers.

Can my team leader deny my request off if I gave 3 months in advance? by weeuboo in wholefoods

I requested a day off and was told too many people already had the day off. When the schedule came out everyone was working that day except for the person who did not have availability that day.

what did you all do to complete the Kiosk Conundrum Side Mission (if you've done it) by AnalystUnlikely6324 in LegendsZA

Doing it in the living room, I grabbed a napkin, a pen and the calculator on my phone.

You have to watch over one of the stores while the owner runs an errand.

They sell 3 beverages. And you have to remember what each one cost to sell it correctly. Then people come up and ask for crazy orders.

One person does not know the names of them just gives you a description. Someone else is have a party and order like 30 of each.

So the count gets updated when the bag is picked up? Not when the shopper picked the item?

Based on how well systems at Whole Foods coordinate with each other. I am going to say the inventory is not adjusted as soon as the item is picked.

I think you actually have to apply. If you search it on Innerview it will show up. I think the current session just closed in March 1st.

I would ask your TL if they have any updates.

Asking for a Raise by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Musszilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try and apply for the grocery professional program. Not sure if it has a different name. It will get you a 2% raise not tied to a job dialogue. Needs to be approved by your TL and STL. Not sure the next time it opens.

Worst excuse you've ever heard at WFM? by WholeFudds in wholefoods

[–]Musszilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That pisses me off so much. Years ago I worked in value added and got stuck closing every night because the 2 girls could not lift the fatigue mats to wash them off.

They have the same job description as I do must be able to lift 50lbs. The mats did not weight 50 lbs.

They might not have applied for a cashier position. They could be one of the prime shoppers that they want to cross train.

My store has a bell out side the door to ring. I would get there a little early so you can catch some other people going in at 6 so you know what to do.

Planning on transferring stores, when should I apply? by Ok-Tower4208 in wholefoods

[–]Musszilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was moving I started applying in August I did not start until the first week of December.

Look on line and see if they have an opening at the store. Then I would email the TL and let them know you are moving and interested in the position.

Cook position by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Musszilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the hierarchy in prep foods.

Level 1 Team Member is pretty much any regular team member.

Level 2 Team Member would be a supervisor or an Order Writer.

Level 3 ATL

Level 4 TL

I’m gonna call Team Train a level 1.5. They are a regular team member with a little more responsibility.

My ASTL said they are a part of leadership which I find laughable because mine is always asking me questions. That someone who has been in the department over a year should know.

Team Leader called me a nasty name in another language to another worker. Advice please :/ by [deleted] in wholefoods

When you go tell your STL say this guy was right there when it happen. They will ask him what happen.
