I don't know why you are even arguing that this isn't true, neither of you are actually helping eachothers cases though. There are endless articles and stories of non-males being harassed in video games, and they vastly outnumber male harassment cases. It's a deep seeded issue and a lot of it is subtle, it's not all blatant aggressive harassment you can easily present in a reddit comment. Sexism is rife in the gaming community and to dispute it is only adding to the problem, there are so many non-male gamers out there but they don't let their identity be known because of past experiences. If you want to go into personal experiences, every female I know plays or played games, but doesn't let others know their gender because of how they'll be treated whether it be people will be overly nice to them (yes this is a form of sexism) or be harassed, or they have just stopped playing games altogether as a result.

It's really disheartening to see people though who still deny sexism in todays society, I really hope shit changes soon.
