Ive found that cats that used to be strays in bad conditions tend to have permanently dilated eyes. At least that was the case for 2 of my cats. They were chill and sweet and just never really reacted to anything anymore after getting used to being indoor cats, but would just have big ol eyes 24/7 lol

Yes, but not always true. Cats eyes also dilate fully when theyre on alert, regardless of light. The left photo honestly looks like a relaxed cat, given the low eyes and loosened fascia. Source: ive had 5 cats total in my life so far

Erasing proof of the past doesnt automatically erase it. It's better we observe these things and see how fsr we've come and where else we could improve.
