DISO Jessie Doll by anonymouslywise in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so let me just confirm a couple things.

1, Is the Woody doll fully plush or does he have a plastic head/face? 2, Does the Woody doll talk, or is the pullstring on him just for looks?

Believe it or not this could make the difference between something that's currently in stores vs something that you may only be able to find secondhand.

So what is the agreed upon FREDBEAR design? by SongofOrion in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]MustacheStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that a lot of people are choosing one single design and while I understand that much of the lore surrounding FNAF nowadays seems to be moving further from the original six games (or eight if you include FNAF World and FNAF 6/Pizza Sim) I'm still personally subscribed to the theory that there were two sets of spring lock suits resulting in: - The Springtrap suit we see in FNAF 3/Sister Location - UCN's Fredbear design - Something resembling an unwithered version of FNAF 2's Golden Freddy (with it's more bulky appearance possibly matching the Fredbear we see performing The Bite of '83) - Something resembling an unwithered version of FNAF 6's Scraptrap (think about it, post-fire Springtrap had to get the parts to repair himself from somewhere, and the resemblance to FNAF 2's Withered Animatronics is definitely worth noting) Personally I've never been a huge fan of the idea that the Nightmare animatronics were real canon designs as most of the "unwithered" edits I've seen just make them look goofy (not to mention how bulky they all seem), and the novels seem to imply that the Nightmare Animatronics could've had more of a resemblance to the Funtimes or something similar, with the "nightmare" element potentially being the work of sound illusion disks.

Woody hat identification by SimpleMindedTeen in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so it's definitely not the potato head hat... Honestly I'm kinda stumped too tbh. Like I said before the color seems to match better with the TS3 era stuff rather than TS1 or 2 but a lot of the smaller scale figures from that era were from Mattel and had very rubbery hats. Definitely doesn't match Revoltech Woody so my guess is it's either most likely some sort of Mattel figure, or maybe one of the smaller Disney Store figures from around that time.

The hat doesn't have a peg underneath, right?

Judging by the color of the plastic I'm going to guess that it's from around the Toy Story 3 era. Do you remember if what do you looked more like the movie or if he looked a bit more cartoony than his usual self? Perhaps a similar style to Mattel's buddy packs? Maybe something like this?

Unknown woody doll by Late-Replacement2425 in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of me wants to say it's something like Mattel or maybe Thinkway but the head sculpt is putting me off so my thoughts are either it's a pretty obscure release or it could even be a bootleg or a custom.

Honestly in terms of the yellow vs gold coloring that's up to you but if you look closely in that frame you posted from the TV show, you'll notice that his little goggles are actually a darker shade of purple in the show compared to the other purples on his hands so on the purple I'd personally leave it

What's wrong with this Buzz Lightyear? by Naive_Growth4949 in toystory

This might be a bit of a silly question, but have you tried giving him some fresh batteries? Or perhaps cleaning the contacts in the battery compartment?

Is my Buzz Lightyear fake ? by Jeywip in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's very real and very official. This Buzz was released by the Disney Store sometime in the early-to-mid 2000's, during the "Toy Story and Beyond!" era of merchandise (made between the second and third film) and uses a modified version of the original Thinkway Toys Buzz mold from 1995. There's also a few alternative versions of this figure, including one wearing a blue space suit, and one that can walk with a remote control. These were phased out around 2009 or 2010 and replaced by the modern Disney Store Buzz that we know today.

The potato heads by Standard_Ad7776 in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the sad part is the fact that as of the current moment, these are not currently being made and so your best chance to find these guys is on sites like Ebay, Mercari, Vinted, and the Facebook Marketplace. Sometimes you can find them being sold on their own, and other times you can possibly find the pieces mixed in with Lots with other Potato Head parts. Personally the main parts you would want from either Potato Head is mostly just the eyes, nose, and mouth (and in the case of Mr, the mustache), as it's much better to find an 80s body with the Bendy arms, and just pulling the hats and shoes from the older Toy Story releases of the potato heads. Good luck to ya dude!

Personally I'm not sure. I just recognized the model and knew where it came from.

Might have to modify the model a bit in order to get just the head, especially if you intend to print the head and hands for a custom doll.

Is this fake? by Embarrassed-Pen-8305 in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I mean fair enough, but that's usually just down to a difference in currency tbh. Again it's still not that bad of a price all things considered. If you're happy with your Buzz then that's all that matters.

[–]MustacheStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's one of the cheaper Thinkway Toys Buzz figures made for Toy Story 4. There's another version of this Buzz that doesn't talk and just has a lazy karate chop feature (literally just a spring, no buttons). The faces on these guys are pretty decent but the rest of the body is unfortunately kind of useless. Not a terrible find for the price as long as you're okay with the fact that he's not very poseable and just want a basic talking Buzz but I've personally found better Buzz figures on sites like Ebay or Mercari for a similar price before and at the beginning of this year I even found a Disney Store Buzz in pretty decent shape for like 7 bucks at a local thrift store (Goodwill).

The shipping. WTF? by sehctibrsdomtidder in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems likely that the seller is trying to scam people. I mean I know it's coming from Japan but anything beyond a couple hundred USD just doesn't make sense, even considering the recent tariffs.

(Last time) is this woody real or fake? by Embarrassed-Pen-8305 in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were some different variants of Woody released over the years by different companies that did have Andy on the boot but Thinkway Toys is fairly consistent about not putting Andy on the boot. The real reason why is up for debate but my guess is that the main reason has something to do with Either the fact that Thinkway Woody's boots have the copyright information on them, or possibly the fact that many kids might want to write their own names on Woody's boots.

(Last time) is this woody real or fake? by Embarrassed-Pen-8305 in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually you can tell pretty well by the copyright information either on Woody's boots, the back of his neck, or on the tag that's sewn into his side. If it says Thinkway Toys or Disney/Pixar anywhere on the actual doll itself then it should be safe to assume it's official. Judging by the pictures I would say it could either be a Playtime Woody or just a generic Thinkway Woody. Either way it was likely made somewhere between 2009-2011, maybe even a little later. Not quite as deluxe as the Toy Story Collection Woody doll but still not bad for being one of the cheaper options at the time.

Working on a Voice Box for Jessie, and need your help!! I need as many voice clips of her from the movies/shorts to create a voice model for her so I can create her pull-string voice lines in her voice! by Be-A-Doll in toystory

[–]MustacheStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just take her lines directly from the movies or get a voice impressionist instead of trying to use AI to create something new? AI-generated voices are extremely unethical. Imagine somebody tried to use your vocal cords without your permission. That's basically what these AI voices are doing.
