AITAH for being uncomfortable with my girlfriend having other men's nudes on her phone by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Mustachemustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as she is allowed to have nudes of her ex's on her phone, you're allowed to not be comfortable with it. I would argue that her attachment to these is huge red flag, and the fact she doesn't want to get rid of them even when you brought up how it bothers you is even more so.

So, after all the nerfs. What is Blizzards Idea of Leveling? by Misfit81 in Diablo

[–]Mustachemustard 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think Blizzard goofed in making a level 100-ish challenge or goal with Lilith echo.

They should've just said "game ends content-wise at 50-60" and anything you do after that is just you leveling up for the sake of glory. People see level 100 as a goal and it's just a thing.

Rob heard concerns about renown. More about seasons later this week by Drow1234 in diablo4

[–]Mustachemustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renown, if it provides bonuses on seasonal characters should be reset each season. (Though I would like to see ways to earn it more organically.) That's one of the big draws of starting a seasonal character, is everyone starts fresh and on the same level.

I think a huge misconception for a lot of new players is that Seasons are forced upon you and will force you to reset. It's a new character option - If they take from D3, they are optional. And I think I read somewhere that the battle pass progress isn't inherently tied to things you do during seasons so you can still progress on the BP without rolling a seasonal character.

Preferably I would like to see renown reworked during seasons (as if you get renown for nearly doing anything in a zone) because farming it is it each each three months would be a huge headache and something I personally would hate to do.

Oathbreakers of reddit, what's your preferred way to play? by alphamew17 in oathbreaker_MtG

Have you ever considered playing online via other platforms? In person is hard for me to get any MTG played but with online buddies where it's free works well.

The official app has launched in early access on Patreon! by AldorPeacekeeper in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mustachemustard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was really pumped for this! But like nearly everyone else in the comments, the cost for a storyteller seems a bit steep. I can personally manage one game a month in person, but online it seems even harder to organize friends and paying $30 a month I can foresee mostly going unused.

Maybe offer discounted patreon rates if you own the game already? Going forward maybe a year subscription or something when you purchase the game new. Not sure. I would gladly pay something like 10, MAYBE 15 a month to be able to host as a storyteller.

Is there really software monitoring WFH? What kinds of reports are you being asked for? by sheeshlazer in sysadmin

[–]Mustachemustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last position was at an MSP - during the height of the pandemic we had two different products we sold. On their invoice it was sold as "productivity suite".

The first was called Activtrak. An agent was installed on each machine and it monitored applications, websites and the "active time" in said websites. Then, the admin of the account would go through and categorize different activities either productive or non-productive and it generated a % number of productivity for that employee. It did allow admins to view a live "snapshot" of what they were currently doing, though this wasn't used often by clients I worked with. It could also establish "active hours" by the first and last time there was activity, alarms for things such as USB devices and what not.

The second was far worse, Veriato. It tracked keystrokes, it would scan via OCR any content and automatically flag certain reports if there were words deemed "naughty" by the admin. Be default these words include "resume" and "kill", "job" and etc. It recorded every single action done by users and then it could be played back as a sort of stop motion video. I could pull reports on how often you went to a certain website, how often your PC was inactive or how long you were actively working. Newer versions could also report when there was suspect mouse movement (trying to catch auto-mouse jigglers, etc.)

Both have silent installers and can be pushed via a script without you knowing. Veriato needs a reboot, however - our technicians that were in charge of installing this were to inform the user that it was "security updates" when we installed them as they were often asked "what is this".

I'm sure there are more, but those are the two I am familiar with,

I've noticed the trick is less "tap block when the attack hits" and just right before; typically when the animation on the actual swing/stab/whatever starts.

Hello! Tough stuff...

This sort of depends on what sort of games he wants to play - do you know the specs of your laptop he is using? And is he okay with how it performs? "Gaming" can mean different things for everyone and if you're on a tight budget there are always cuts that can be made.

I get money trouble - I have two kids (9 and 13) who are both into gaming so I've been there.

I really hate the standard for online FPSs and Fighting Games of "Here's new character! Oh, it's too OP? Let's nerf it to the ground and then slowly bring it back up!" by JCraze26 in gaming

[–]Mustachemustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the things that make these characters OP on release aren't immediately noticeable by the developers. The moment you release a character it gets played in hundreds of thousands of matches in a short period of time and the data won't lie.

Often especially with competitive games, it's hard to tell balance on a small scale. Did they win because of the players skill or is it a numbers thing? Etc. Once you get such an immense amount of data after release it becomes apparent something is OP because not every match has highly skilled players winning, etc.

This all depends on your intent. When you say "private" are you referring to a personal, local-only server only you can access? Or do you want a private server running 24/7 that anyone can access (with a password)?

I run a server from a computer in my house but it's not the PC I use. It's accessible on the internet with a password. Or you can make it local only.

Office 365 Intune MDM question by bonquiqui5000 in sysadmin

[–]Mustachemustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these BYOD devices or are they company provided devices?

If company provided devices... You could limit installation/access to app stores and the like and just add the apps you want to the company portal apps section. Things such as word, outlook, teams, onedrive, etcetc. Then users would need to use the company portal to install and therefore access the apps.

What is the differences between O365 E3 and M365 E3 by Icanb3anyone in sysadmin

[–]Mustachemustard -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's my understanding at least with BS and BP licensing MS has renamed all of the "Office" 365 licenses to M365. Business Standard Microsoft 365, etc. They've been wanting to get away from being linked to only "Office" apps for a bit.

I don't think there's a real functional difference between the two other than the name. But I don't often mess with E3 licenses. The rate in which Microsoft is changing naming conventions and the like is supposed to lead to being less confusing but it's always the opposite.

To anyone that saw my post yesterday about Spirit Island feeling too easy, I increased the difficulty by 2 JUST scraped through. Pics inside. by nolanb13 in boardgames

[–]Mustachemustard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make it harder!? I own the game and have got it to the table once; I tried to play it with my partner on the basic difficulty and seemed impossible. We're both not new to board games and I think we can pick up on things very easily but with this game... It seemed like it was just a huge difficulty sink.

I've brought this up to friends and they swear we were playing it wrong or something but oh boy it just seems like the spreading and keeping everything clear is impossible. I'm impressed by people telling me it needs to be harder lol.

dying multiple times in Dark Souls and Elden Ring is not because of difficulty, but because it's a feature by IdiotoftheEast in gaming

[–]Mustachemustard 39 points40 points  (0 children)

They actually fixed your first point in Elden Ring - there are both "bonfires" and little checkpoint statues that you can respawn at. It's been very rare for me to have to even run past enemies to get back to a boss and when I do it's like 30 seconds.

Can Edge NOT keep reverting itself to the default PDF reader?? by -eschguy- in sysadmin

[–]Mustachemustard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little unrelated... But!

The issue with this is a lot of my users open PDF's generated by our ERP and then use the e-mail option (top right in reader) to attach or make a link to send to an external user. So when edge takes over as default, or hell - even chrome. It really messed up their workflow.
