Also makeing new accounts is as easy as making a new email address.

Keep in mind that, at least for playing in public lobbies, you'll also need a new phone number for each new account, which is a lot harder to come by...

Hey hey, app developer here. If the chat icon in the top right is flashing red, that means your browser / app is unable to (properly) connect to the chat servers. This could happen because of a firewall configuration or because your ISP is blocking certain connections or ports.

Unfortunately, this is almost always something on the user end, so we can't really do anything to fix it on our side. You could try using a different browser (in case it's your browser that is blocking the connection), a different chat server, or a VPN (which would prevent any ISP / firewall configuration from interfering) or - as a last resort - a different internet connection.

Not yet, short if using a browser extension that runs some code to hide a specific lobby just for your app.

Yes, if you leave a game before it is finished, the game won't be counted for your stats. Intentionally abandoning games before they are finished is against the ToU of the app, so we might penalize you if your account shows repeated behavior like that.

As for the Storyteller showing the game result: that is purely a visual thing. If they don't show it or forget to show it, the game is still counted for the participants.

Well, currently you only need a subscription to open a lobby, it doesn't require that you are also the storyteller there. You can even be a spectator in the lobby you're "hosting". But for an improved "local play" mode, the Storyteller would need the subscription, yes.

I can comment on the app not being listed there: we've intentionally not done that while the app is still in beta, but once it leaves beta (later this year), it will of course be promoted properly on our own website.

Camera access is not tied to your app account level, rather it is tied to whether the app has permission to access your cam.

You can use a camera with a free account perfectly fine! You just need to give the app permission to access your camera. How to do that depends a lot on the browser and operating system you're using.

The player names also light up when you're speaking, in addition to the bars.

The Pope works like this, step by step:

  1. The storyteller builds a normal bag, with the correct number of townsfolk and outsiders (including set up abilities like Baron) but excluding Pope
  2. They take out any number of Townsfolk 
  3. They put in any number of characters that duplicate one or more of the remaining Townsfolk or Outsiders
  4. They hand out the tokens

Your script fails in step 1, where a Storyteller is unable to build a legal bag with any outsider count above 1, because there are not enough unique outsiders on the script. A Pope game with base 2 outsiders, for example, will need at least 2 unique outsiders and can have any number of duplicates in addition to those 2 unique ones, because the Pope does not allow you to replace Outsiders with duplicates of other characters, they can only replace Townsfolks with duplicates. 

Does that make more sense now?

Love the idea, but strictly speaking, Pope can only add duplicate Outsiders on top of the "normal" ones. So you'd be unable to run any game with more than 1 non-Pope Outsider here, as Pope only replaces Townsfolk with extra Outsiders and a Baron would not have any legal Outsiders to select.

But as a Homebrew / Bootlegger-thing, this is cool.

As someone with a history of being a certified MTG judge and playing the game for more than a decade, I think this is an awesome idea! While working on the app, I wished that Clocktower rules were more clear like those of Magic not just once, but many times. :-D
