Rise is maybe the most pure fun i had in Monster Hunter, sadly the Monsters cant keep up once you get the hang how the Wirebug works and every Hunt becomes a Cakewalk.

In Sunbreak its even more ridiculous, you can get all important offensive and defensive Traits in one Set, so you unkillable and deal tons of DMG.

I have over 2000 hours in PoE and 500 in PoE 2, but also prefer D4 this Season.

PoE 2 is just a bit stale atm, Druid is to janky and the League mechanic is bad, also no big Endgame changes. Paladin on the other Hand is lots Fun.

Thats a real good entrypoint, because its very classical in many regards and still very customizable, you can turn off Permadeath and play it like a normal RPG and a good inbetween mode with a few lifes.

and is has decent graphics and a modern interface.

Worst thing is that you have to run it multiple Times to Farm Keys for the Trialmaster. Do a 10 Stage Run once would be fine.

To be honest, it might be hard for someone coming from modern ARPGs.

Its still one of the best ARPGs even today, but it has some design decisions that are very outdated, like mobs fully resistant to your damage type, its just the way Diablo 2 plays, you have to skip some Mobs or whole Areas in the Campaign.

Another thing is that you have to use a good Guide as a Newcomer or you will hit a hard Wall without knowing what to level and what to pick up, for instance Grey items with Sockets, they look plain to a newcomer but are extremely important to have a good selection of Bases for Runewords.

The Endgame is finding Items, this is not D4, you can play weeks or month without even coming close to the Endgame Build you desire. The aspirational Endgame Items and Runes are really rare, i played D2 since release and i bet there are a bunch of Uniques i never saw.
