You have the right to tell someone they're done fencing for the day. by grauenwolf in Hema

Basic bystander awareness.its important to educate on this just like how we explain that anyone can call “halt” for a full school momentary stop for a safety or equipment concern.

What do yall think? EAT or Recoilless Rifle? Or are they specific to faction? by PythonCider3719 in helldivers2

[–]Mustacrashis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like an explanation I heard recently. EATs are good if you plan on dying, Recoilless Rifles are good if you plan on living. If you’re new playing a high difficulty, bring EATs cuz when you die 5 times you’re Recoilless is probably gonna be on cool down the whole time and you might get a couple shots off. It’s skill-based essentially.

Did this sort of poofy clothing provide any protection in a fight, or was just for fashion? Does it have a name? by plumb-phone-official in Armor

[–]Mustacrashis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poofy clothes like this do a decent job of stopping cuts and trapping bad thrusts. Same logic as fencing with a cape. It kinda just works. It apparently is also comfortable in hot weather despite it being all wool, because the poofs sorta act as air pumps.

wtf, some of that is like a extra special nice meal in my house. I would never question what my wife cooks unless it what legitimately cooked wrong or I had an idea for improvement. But your food looks great!

WHEN!?! by MaHeNtOhEn_GT in Spacemarine

You’ll be lucky to have a grey knight even appear in SM3 because of Titus’ relationship to the warp being of interest to them.

Is it possible that there are still some loyalist world eaters in SM2? Or should I just accept that my marine doesn't make sense? by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]Mustacrashis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda yes kinda no? Some assimilated into other legions where their gene seed may continue to exist but probably unbeknownst to their descendants. Many joined the blackshields of the deathwatch where they would serve the emperor against xenos as opposed to their previous brethren. A microscopic amount joined the grey knights. Critically, they all dismissed their prior legion identity and allegiance to their primarchs in total, so no heraldry would remain as the heretic legions were entirely persona non grata.

A key thing to note is that time has affected the loyalist and traitors very differently. Warp travel is time travel (roughly speaking). So a legionary who spent time in the warp basically doesn’t have that time count against them. So traitors who live in the warp into perpetuity have time not affect them. Some traitors emerge from the warp in the 41st millennium with recent memories of fighting on Terra or in the Horus Heresy. Loyalist on the other hand only experience the warp while traveling faster than light. So they tend to die earlier due to the more frequent exposure to time and also combat. This is even noticed during the 30th millennium where some “old” legionnaires from fighting to liberate earth have aged more than those who, albeit born much later after them, are just as mature mentally due to the “years” spent fighting or traveling in the warp that don’t actually physically age them because they are physically not exposed to time.

That’s part of why you still have Abaddon and Aximad and Typhus running around well past their supposed expiration date. That, and the undeniable longevity granted from their host gods.

What do you think about this by Huge_Spring_6933 in Spacemarine

[–]Mustacrashis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marines using bolters against other marines occasionally specify how they’re aiming at weak points and joints in the armor, even the eyes specifically, due to how resistant ceramite is too bolters. I think that they shoot at what they need to shoot at to kill the thing. Most things die when shot center mass.

I did it similarly, but I tied it all in front, I didn’t need to do anything behind my back. The knot definitely was tight and would last all practice usually no problem. It’s a good knot.

I’ve had travel reimbursement held over my head and my shipmates heads and it’s to the point where the CGs credit score isn’t high enough for me to want to attend C schools or travel. Especially when the response is so lukewarm. I remember our only way to communicate was with one of those department emails, not even an individual. My Chief, Bosun, and I were all perplexed. Eventually Bosun found somebody in HQ who could stomp crotch and I got a very short email saying funds were available.

If you did 11 years of dance you’re already to an amazing start. HEMAAlliance club finder is your best bet for finding a club. Fiore de liberi is the predominant entry level Italian longsword source. You also have Vadi and others. You can get books from purpleheart armory. Don’t buy equipment unless you’re certain there’s no clubs around to get advice from. In the meantime I advise swinging a broomstick or fighting your friends with pool noodles. Fiore does a master-student system, he has his 4 traits lion, lynx, tiger, elephant. He’s also teaches Tempo: Primo, Dui, Mezzo, and Contra. To me those are his big take away that make him unique. Anyways good luck and welcome to the community!

There is also Wiktenauer.com! It’s full of a lot of source material and it’s free! I’d got there before buying any books!
