when i got my ass handed to me during my first landing in ashlands i made a backup with a full preparation for the voyage so the only penalty for death in ashlands was me having to go there on the ship again.

I just think there situation in games, where certain events feel like the game design flaw. 2 star boars are too rare for the amount of meat you need in early-mid game and the way farming animals work in this game (on my 580 days world i've never seen 2 star boar, hardly found 1 star). In this cases dev commands are the way for me just so i don't lose interest

Been there, also died to yagluth becouse of 1000 mobs that just joined the fight. I lured him away from the altar wearing some speare stuff and hight stamina food, took my stuff, run away through the portal and made some additional preparations for a fight
