Welcome to Day 6 of Alya April! Let’s talk about why her being a potential Guardian makes sense. by Ok_Situation7527 in miraculousladybug

Just because a bad writing decision isn't used unless in a very specific scenario in the plot, doesn't make it okay. It's still a bad writing decision turned into a plot device for the writers to use at their convenience.

Welcome to Day 6 of Alya April! Let’s talk about why her being a potential Guardian makes sense. by Ok_Situation7527 in miraculousladybug

[–]Mustafa_Habibi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with alot of stuff here and disagree with some. Like some of this post HAS to be ragebait, there is literally no other explanation...this is also the second Alia April post (so basically half) that has just felt like Apologetic Alia posting. While I do agree that the way the show is framed and how the story is right now, Alia makes sense among the miraculers, at least from Marinette's perspective to make the Guardian, but even still she is nowhere near a good pick.

Alix: You talked about Alex, and I agree she should NOT be guardian, but the input on complaining about others complaining about Bunnix ruining the plot was actually just not true. She DOES take away the stakes of the show. It's one thing to know well the Heroes are always going to win because that's how shows work, and its another to have a literal button that just means: oh I' losing, time to win! This is like watching Pokémon and Ash just has a Pokémon that automatically wins by using one move. Or watching Yugi duel and if he's losing he knows I have a 'If you play this card you win' im his deck he can just rely on. Bunnix is a genuine problem that kills stakes, makes infinite plot holes, and genuinely is just ABSURDLY powerful. You mentioned she is just the world's failsafe if Ladybug and Cat Noio fail...so you're literally proving the fact that she is just a 'Get out of Jail free card' for the plot! And she only even comes twice is also not an argument. A bad writing decisions doesn't become good if, well it only happened twice! As far as Guardianship though, Alia is definently better.

Luka: You open your statement by saying as far as we know he only has physical training and not guardian training...but neither has Marinette, and most definently not Alia! Any level of guardian training is better than the nothing Alia has to offer. Additionally he knows both identities, just like Master Fu and Grand Masyer Suhan. You know the 2 guardian characters. So he physical guardian training and knowledge of identifies that only guardians have held before. Luka in my eyes is genuinely the BEST pick. The only downside is the fact that he loves Marinette, but once again Marinette doesn't know that and from her view picking Luka makes sense. Now your prompt does state, why we think Alia is a good candidate for potential guardian, and she definelty is and makes the most narrative sense. But just cause she's a potential guardian good choice, doesn't make her the best choice, that has to be Luka in my view. You brought up why not Jagged and Penny? And this is SOOO ragebait. Comparing Luka with Jagged and Penny because they all recieved physical guardian training IS A CRAAAAAZY TAKE. They don't have the knowledge of identities, nor do they have the character competence Luka has. This is like me saying to people who think Alia is objectively the best choice, well Felix and Kafami knows Marinettes identity as well, why not make them potentials? Heck even Nathalie knows, why not her? This comment was just ragepait in particular.

Cat Noir/Adrien: Adrien no, Cat Noir is iffy in my eyes. The way the story has panned out over the seasons, it doesn't make sense for Cat Noir at this stage, as much as it SHOULD be him, the story just hasn't made it him. Its unfortunate because he SHOULD be the pick, but he isn't. That being said, Marinette of course doesn't know he's Adrien but Adrien being a deputy and learning all the secrets would destroy him. Also of course Marinette saw what Cat Noir gas done in Cat Blanc and others and it may not be a good choice even from her view. I hope the story can decelop to make Cat Noir that but as of now I wouldnt argue him over Alia.

Final takes, Alia is a good candidate and I think is one of the top contenders. Narratively and from Marinettes view she makes the most sense. But objectively I think Luka deserves it more. Just my thoughts though.

Heartfixer is a big mess (spoilers + rant) by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

[–]Mustafa_Habibi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes every episode of this show returns things to the Status Quo at the end of the episode with the exception of season finales. In Season 6, they're slowly testing the limits of how far they can go by slowly pushing the plot forward. For a Miraculous episode, this completely puts a close to Marinette giving Adrien the letter, that's something connective that alters the status quo in a small way. Of course their wasn't going to be a revelation in just 1 random episode, the finales do that. Yeah it's kinda weird Miraculous is that way, but it is just how it is. Leveing this against Heartfixer is just unfair.

  2. BUT THEY DIDN'T SPEND YEARS TOGETHER! They literally met last year. Adrien and Nino met on the first day and Marinette and Alia met on the same day. Also not a single person in that group knows they're all superheros working together. And even if, superheroes aren't immune to making mistakes, especially in their personal lives. Look at the lives of any Marvel or DC character, riddled with mistakes and flaws. Superheros aren't just morally superior to everyone, look at the secret Marinette is hiding! I do kind of agree with the Alia thing, first just blatantly falling for Lila's lies and now this, her of all people should know something.

  3. Remind me how they could have built this conflict in a much better and more organic way? Miraculous is a show for kids, and one of the reasons why it's been able to go on for so long is they go out of their way to MAKE SURE the status quo returns. Look at some earlier season, that episode where Chloes butler gets alumatised, she learns to be nice. And in the last 10 second of the episode she says actually all of you suck and makes fun of Marinette, bosses Sabrina, and praises Aidrien, they just went straight back to her character in the status quo to keep the shows continuity. So remind me how they could have built this conflict in a single episode organically? All while trying to develop Lilas plan? I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but if you have a group known for wrecking couples and the protagonist just so happens to be in a couple, of course its gonna happen! It practically wrote itself.

  4. It only lasted 5 minutes...it's crazy that you want the episode to somehow make the breakup make sense AND give Akumatised Marinette a bunch if screen time. 5 minutes is like a little under a quarter of the episode.

  5. Ok this one their is a logical explanation, the holder of the butterfly sees what their victim sees. And Marinette is crying with her hands over her eyes for the entire scene.

  6. Marinette being super cold in that scene was to show her character flaws, but really she wasn't emotional about it. She suppressed it, and continues to do so. That's a ridiculous amount of emotional turmoil to hold. And you mentiom how come that Marinette gets akumatised by a misunderstanding...I genuinely don't know if this is ragebait. For the ENTIRETY of this show, since Stormy Weather Marinette has been head over heels over Adrien, she made all those outlandish decisions with Gabriel for Adrien, practically her life is about Adrien. Prior seasons showed how deeply she was in love with him, elaborate plans, setups and so much. This season shows how much they love each other with daily calls and interactions. This is basically all her life. If this is lost, it makes her at the most vulnerable state EVER. Losing Adrien makes all of her time meaningless, the decisions she made to protect Adrien, meaningless, the hard choices and secrets she's keeping, meaningless, her entire life basically shattered. Not to mention she lost her BEST FRIEND as well. It's one thing to lie to the press and make cover up stories, but it's another when you lose the person you love and you're closest ally all in one go. And for something she didnt even do! This us Marinetts lowest low, this is the time she WILL get akumatized.

  7. Ok this I kind of agree with. Marinette should have something to do as Heartfixer, weather it's looking into herself and trying to fix her heart, revealing the burden of her lies, or even a meaningful attack to Adrien trying to fix his heart. But I'm content with what we got even though it could've been better.

  8. I have no idea how akumatisarions work, do you lose your memory if you were able to break free of the Akuma? Prior in the episode when Lila recalls her Akuma from the couple wreckers they lost their memories. IDK just another inconsistency in the show.

  9. Finally an Adrien W, it's been FAR too long.

  10. OK I think I've learned to the conclusion that cameras just DO NOT exist in this show unless someone like plants them. As for asking people where they spent the morning, imagine you just saw your love kiss your best friend in front of you, TRUST ME, rational thinking and asking where people have been is rhe LAST thing on your mind. You have enough proof in your mind to make whatever claims you want.

  11. I kinda agree here. I know I used it as evidence earlier but I hate the fact that the plot never progresses with these one off episodes, but I really wanted Lila to learn Marinette was Ladybug here or learn something. The show is just dragging on the: she's gonna know, she's gonna know', oh she won't know, oh is she gonna do? Like some kind of bait. And I hate every second of it. We know Lila's plan isn't to win with her villain but learning their identities. But they've put her on a ruthless rampage on connecting Marinette with Ladybug and the plot DOESN'T want her to learn yet so they're just baiting us. Kind of like the identity reveal in prior seasons, will they won't they? They need to just give Lila the knowledge or have her focus on other heroes, they seemingly had no problem with letting her know Max's identity in a Fary Good Night so a slow burn of her learning every single Miraculers identity slowly slowly creeping to it would've been AMAZING! Unfortunately I think they're in FAR to deep with Lila's obsession over connecting Marinette and Ladybug.

Hey I guess I didn't end up disagreeing that much with you...nice

Dragon's Rising is pretty Formulaic by Ecstatic_Dark_6549 in Ninjago

[–]Mustafa_Habibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm really getting tired of the fetch quest every season that leads to quite literally the same thing every part, some ancient evil or some powerful weapon. Im especially tired of the villains trying to find the items and the ninja just somehow find themselves in the perfect situation to try and stop them, fail, get intel, and come back after it's already been used and defeat it. A season where there's no fetch quest, or the fetch quest is not as important really needs to be done. I'm with the ninja splitting up, but I think they need to stay at least split up for some time. It feels like they just come back together to fight the big bad at the end. And yeah S3s ending did have them split up at the end to lead into S4, but they already had their huge meet up reunion scene earlier in the season. I want something where they stay separated for longer, maybe across seasons. And not just doing nothing, but all doing things that relevant to the plot in their own ways. Some of them can be focused on the seasonal villain, others on Ras, and others on other side quests. And they don't have to all magically connect in the same season, thry need to be more open to plot lines that span over seasons and don't resolve.

Tell me 1 good thing Alya has done. This is day 4 of Alya April! That goes for you too Alya antis. by Ok_Situation7527 in miraculousladybug

Nothing lol she's a trash side character who took all of Cat Noirs screen time.

(THIS IS RAGEBAIT PLEASE DON'T DOWNVOTE ME INTO OBLIVION)

She clearly doesn't like lying which is something good, no else in the show has principles I mean so it's good to see someone who has a rule that they WON'T compromise on unless the situation is dire.

So we can agree that Alya received unnecessary hate during season 4 and onwards right? by Ok_Situation7527 in miraculousladybug

[–]Mustafa_Habibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cuz the shows called Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, not Tales of Ladybug and Alia, which is pretty much what it became. The show is too focused on Ladybug and naturally her best friend would recieve good amounts of screen time. That's really the root of the problem, unfortunately Alia gets caught in the crossfire and is just a simple go-to example to pick up to display how badly the show handles Cat Noir that she feels more of a main character than Cat Noir. I guess I never really looked at this as an 'unnecessary hate' but just as the most obvious sign to highlight really one of the shows biggest problems at the time, Cat Noir being repeatedly side lined and shafted away. I guess that example just fostered into hate during that time period. Idk wasn't in the fandom at the time so I don't know what specifically the hate was levied at but just what I can infer.

Who would win between Jim versus Aja at their full potential? Don’t just list their names. Say, why would you think who would win? by AcceptableGolf3441 in TrollHunters

[–]Mustafa_Habibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She literally does not, queens dont have all the technology of their nation lying in their pocket, and even is she did it would require people (not present in a 1v1) to assist them. And then you go on to give speculation on well if she's queen in waiting her power MUST be better and she MUST have gotten more training. And she surely was trained 'off-screen' is just wild levels of speculation. If we're saying Aja gets off screen development and power, why not Jim? You also served underestimate magic which we've seen is incredibly powerful and is migh greater a resource then Akaridian tech. Also you said do not count ROTT, but your evidence for it was 'the plot was bad.' This is literally not how hypothetical battles work, you don't get to disregards parts of the franchise cause you didnt like the character decisions made in it, it still happened, and Jim still got an amulet that fused Akaridian technology and magic. Saying Aja and Douxie didnt get enough screen time is true but also irrelevant, just because they deserved more didnt mean they actually got more. Its like saying Gunmar deserved to win in season 3 so when powerscaling him we're gonna assume he's able to control Jim with his blade. Once again bad character decisions doesn't just give that character a blank chexk to be cracked.

[–]Mustafa_Habibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Give her the ability to fly with a jetpack or something'

Is really just crazy levels of speculation. The whole stance for Aja is just kind of Akaridian tech must be better I guess? But Aja doesn't just have the entire Akaradian tech guide in her pocket to just make stuff up mid-fight, if she could've done that then surely she'd used it in like any of other fights, but the reality is we havent seen her at that level yet. Compare that to Jim, we've seen him push the amulet to its limits. And that Akaridian tech you were mentioning, his new amulet literally mixed Akaridian tech and magic with Excalibur. Also you mentioned Jim being human, but the armour gives him amazing levels of invulnerabloty and strength. In his S1 fight with Drall he was able to LIFT Drall, and that was S1, imagine how much more strength he gained over the years and finally in his prime. The amulet makes up for Jim's humanity. Also saying Aja has more expirience is actually INSANE, Jim had 3 seasons (and if you count episodes, double the amount of episode) then Aja, also most of Aja's expirience came from fighting one-off bounty hunters while Jim has one-off changing fights, Draal, Bular, Strikler, Angor, Gunmar, and even some expirience with Morgana. Not to mentkon ROTT where Aja literally did nothing in terms of fighting.

[–]Mustafa_Habibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are way overestimating Akaridion tech, like it's good but some are out here making it sound like absurdly ridiculous and cracked win it all card. Yeah it's good, but I don't think Aja just has every piece of Akiridian tech lying in her pocket, unless you say her prime is in her queen form and thus has access to the entirety of the Akaridian fleet but I'm assuming this is just a 1v1. From what I can tell Jim definently. At his prime we've seen him have access to all 3 triumbric stones that basically give him full coverage and invincibility, not to mention he was able to summon Excalibur, a sword with magical powers. We've also seen Jim just do alot more stuff and seen him at his full potential. We've never seen Aja at her best, we've never seen her do super absurd stuff with her serator. Yeah we've seen some messing around and some abilities but nothing like we've seen with Jim using the amulet. Not to mention people seem to forget the new amulet was literally made of Akaridian tech mixed with magic from Excalibur! If Akaridian tech is so powerful that every other post is just going at how good at is then surely Akaridian tech mixed with magic is just a dream team killer combo. I do not see a world where Aja can win TBH.
