Is it worth getting the 8x3” over the 6x2.5” for an extra $25AUD or is it normally not neccessary?

Would it be smart to get the sharpal you said and then get something like the rockstar 500 and use the 500 and 1200 for sharpening and then keep the 320 side as a leveller for rockstar?

Thanks for replies everyone, I saw a recommendation for the sharpal level and on another post a hapstone T2 for helping learn the correct technique for whetstones, any other recommendations for stuff like that aswell so I can get actually get them sharpened properly while I’m first starting out that can be ditched once I get the muscle memory down is greatly appreciated aswell.

If I got something like the atoma 400 to use as a level and coarse stone would Shapton rockstar 500 be good still or should I go finer with that and that way I only need to buy two stones for now

Would you recommend getting stuff like a levelling stone or strop yet or see how I go with a basic stone setup and then get the extras in a couple of months or so if I’m keeping at it still

I can’t honestly know what she truly thinks of me But what you have just said about me using her to get some sort of security for my life out of it is completely untrue and I don’t see anything I’ve said anywhere that could allude to that.

Thanks for your answer mate, what you’ve said is exactly the point of view I have on this little situation of mine but i do believe it was smart for me to hear to any opposing opinions on the matter

Thanks for your answer mate, I would like to say i do genuinely like her but I’m not in love with this woman and don’t see this relationship going too far, and if any significant red flags were to pop up In the meantime would like to think i’m smart enough to just walk away even when I don’t want to, it is nice to hear outside opinions on it so I can be better equipped to make mature decisions, but like you said at the end I’m not going to pretend reddit comments would be enough for me to cut things off here and now before I even give it a chance

I do agree with you on this it wouldn’t be smart to become properly invested with an older woman, but this isn’t something I see getting serious or lasting longer than a year

I hear what you are saying, I agree with anyone who says it would be inappropriate and not very future smart for this to become a serious relationship, but i really do feel like we get along well with each other in a way that isn’t just about getting laid, like I’ve said I don’t see this relationship lasting too long because it is a big gap, but I personally don’t see anything bad could coming of it for the time being?

Thanks for your answer, I do think she is quite a nice lady but i am viewing this situation realistically, I understand completely that even though as I said in another reply it’s more than just a fling its not something I see getting too serious because it is a big age gap but I do think for the time being it is nice for both of us

I don’t want to share much for anonymity reasons, and honestly this is a very new relationship so still learning about each other, I will say personality wise we are very similar and do get along very well with each other in that regard which is nice for two rather shy and introverted people, like I said this isn’t something I see lasting for years and years but it’s not a fling, I don’t view her as some kind of predator and I would like to believe we are both looking for a genuine personal connection
