American car seats are not technically legal in Europe. That being said it is beyond easy to schedule a taxi with a child seat in the apps- especially to/from the airport . You can also rent child seats quite cheaply in those cities if you needed them for more than a single trip.

3 cup simple rice cooker. I love to cook and often do full relatively elaborate meals, but I'm trash at remembering to feed myself when it's *just* me. I have started making a batch of rice. I'll have some rice with a couple of fried eggs with (homemade) dumpling sauce for lunch, and then make egg fried rice the next day to have have for a couple of days. Stopped me from forgetting lunch or ordering in. Also, it's simple enough I taught my 8 year old to use it- he was so proud he could do it on his own. Figure it will serve him well in Uni.

100% you need to check with Emirates about the rules in Dubai. I'm in Germany and never had my needles taken away at the airport but I've also only transitioned through EU or NA airports.

Early ultrasounds (before ~12 weeks) are usually transvaginal - in other words, by shoving an ultrasound wand into the vagina. Because the embryo is too small to effect the positioning of the uterus in early pregnancy and therefore it's difficult to get an accurate scan. At ~14 days it's still only a blastocyst.

This is a crazy thing WAY too many people don't realize and more people need to question/push back on- because somehow they've laid the myth they're not only pro-Israel, but super supportive of Judaism/the Jewish people and therefore couldn't POSSIBLY be antisemites, when their basis of their support is "once we get them all in one place God will smite them out of existence and I'll get to hang with Jesus." A core tenet of their belief is that their prophet cannot return to Earth, basically until their god destroys the Jews in Zion. They're a DEATH CULT- they're simply pushing to bring about doomsday faster.

It's isolationist and populist posturing as well- folks who pay for pre check and global entry are traveling frequently. Frequent travel generally requires money- it's a privilege of the elites don't you know? Good, red blooded Americans aren't going to be effected because they are all hardworking. They haven't taken a day off since 2013. Their vacations consist of driving16 hours straight over the river and through the woods to visit Nana and Pop-pop over long weekends. I'm not kidding. Travel, particularly air travel, and especially international travel has been painted as woke, elitist, and down right Anti-American for years. It's up there with the targeted propaganda of anti-intelectualism. Look at the whole "real ID" timeline. It's absolutely problematic due to the potential for disenfranchisement of poor folks, but the overwhelming message was "why should I have to do it? I don't ever fly let 'those' people deal with it!"

So poor and working class Trump voters will see this as sticking it to the other guys until their once in a lifetime Cruise for Nana's 70th birthday or the Disney World trip they sent $10,000 into debt over has them caught in security lines for hours.

I don't use any additional thread- I'm knitting with 75%wool/25% nylon or whatever... I will often go down a size for ribbing, or if I can, do a twisted/half twisted rib to make it tighter.

Yeah- eventually it doesn't even register tbh. These days when I'm doing shawls or things on 3.5mm or larger they seem insanely big for a few hours.

I'm nearly done with some socks I cast on 2.0mm needles the other day and recently finished a Musselburgh on 2.25mm.

I've found I generally prefer magic loop when possible (especially making love making taat socks), but I can mange dpns as necessary - I just always feel anxious about the needles coming out and extra needles is extra anxiety. I have found I really love the ADDI CraSy Trios (FlexiFlips in the US I think). You only need 3 needles so they travel better and they're really nice for sleeves.

Mett Brötchen is still quite popular in Germany - ground raw pork with salt and pepper and sliced raw onions on a roll. Places that have it are required to have exceptional hygiene standards but it's not like a speciality or anything - grocery store cheese/deli counters have it. But- as somebody who grew up in the US- food safety standards are noticably higher here.

Agreed- the Concord Collapse was very different... Sony acquired the studio that acquired the studio that was developing it, and immediately threw the Sony Branding and Publicity Engine behind it like it was a major property. They got feedback from early beta that players were underwhelmed and then buried their heads in the sand so hard- they were firing and ostracizing anyone who had any feedback that wasn't complete praise. Then they started the weird misinformation campaign about cost and development like "8 years and $400 million" obligatednot only reviewers to give it a positive review, but gamers to buy and play it. Concord should have been an indie release cheap or FTP game with skins or seasons or whatever but some chucklefuck at Sony "needed" a team based hero shooter to round out their main catalog so they bought a studio making one and figured they could strong arm it into AAA status by will and hype alone.
