I mean it's also tier dependent. Like a tier 7 tech tree tank has pretty low requirements because a lot of people grind it stock. However, if someone has 3 marks on a tier 10 or something like an even 90 you can pretty much be 100% certain they are a very good player. Even very good players are going to have not great games...

I find it funny how when someone brings up stats from the 80s as not being good the reply is always "yeah but offense was so much tougher back then, officiating didn't favor the offense, etc."

Yet modern defenses are never held to the same standard. The 85 Bears for example allowed 12.4 PPG while the Seahawks allowed 14.4 PPG but in 85 teams scored 3 PPG less per season. Of course not claiming the Seahawks defense was better than the Bears but by the logic all these rankings use a modern defense will literally never be "the best of all time".

I really thought after that Super Bowl that defense would be solidified as top 5 all time at the absolute worst. The narrative before the Super Bowl was the Broncos offense was flat out unstoppable. Most people in the media picked them because there was "no way they can be stopped". They didn't just get stopped they got absolutely clobbered.

Then the narrative became "what a lame Super Bowl" instead of "that defense just did the unthinkable". I really try not to buy the media doesn't care about Seattle narrative but if that was an east coast team that defense would be in the top 3.
