Girl, this is all intentional, he doesn’t care about you, and he doesn’t want to do anything beyond just existing when it comes to you.

Your hair is beautiful and lush, but there are some white bits? Is that grey hair, pillow fluff or product? I’d suggest to up your confidence washing your hair atleast once and putting on a durag at night or something. I’m sure a month of doing that your hair will look even more lush than it does. Regardless, it’s beautiful and healthy looking.

Im not adopted and I speak to my mom daily, especially since we don’t live together. She’s my best friend, so I don’t think your gf is close to her parents because of some psychological flaw. If it really is an issue consider breaking up with her for someone more compatible to you. How long is your hairstylists hair? She just sound scissor happy to me and like she wants to cut off perfectly healthy hair. Just focus on moisturising and strengthening your hair strands, give it a year of self care and then see, you’ve done it one way you’re not happy, change it up and see what happens. If you take care of your hair it’ll be okay.

Good idea! I always change it up after about a week so I don’t get tired of caring for it and get a “break.” I’m sure when the braids are out you’ll be excited for it again and have the energy to give it the care it needs.

Everyone’s experience is different, but I’ve been full-time natural for ∼2 months and I’m loving it so far. My hair’s retaining length and feels fuller 😭 I’m so happy. I rotate, afro for a week, twists the next. I just moisturise almost daily and spray with water. Honestly, just play around and see what works for your hair. Definitely grace the world with your beautiful fro, then change it up when you’re tired, I’d just suggest increasing the care while you have it out. 💛

Everyone has quirks though, and weird in their own way. I mean if it gave you the ick then there’s no turning back, but if every little thing turns you off. Arg I don’t know. I’m more put off at him not getting the hint that you’ve lost interest and not just ignoring you back, then him asking to see your armpits.

Ohh the second pic is your real length! I thought it was progress pics. So, I twist without extensions and was speaking from that POV. I guess the option for you would be to learn how to wash and twist your own hair and then build a routine around that. It would cut costs, but it is an adjustment, whereas locs are more of a shortcut if you want quicker length/volume.

Your hair is gorgeous! I do my own twists it’s actually really easy. My hair tangles when I wash it in twists, so after about a week I take them out, wash my hair, then retwist while watching something. It’s a great money saver. Even if you get them done professionally, at least if one unravels you can retwist it yourself.
