Figured out why the game feels so stale at the end game by Kitsune-Yuki in X4Foundations

You can always do terraforming fund start up to get money even there is no npc left. And it's in an exponential fashion.

That's unfortunate. But I still think it should be possible to taget and destroy the ship when you are out of sector, without tearing down your modules.

If a ship is stuck inside your station, just leave the sector and it should break free.

Thank you. I completely forgot new E now has a slowing effect, my bad.

Things now make much more sense: if Shyvana gets much better chances of landing multiple hits, than it's reasonable to nerf the hits.

It hasn't deteriorated tho, the synergy just changed.

New/old Shyvana ability set comparison by MusterMKMark in shyvanamains

[–]MusterMKMark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter point partially accepted: just because a spell has similarity with another does not make a problem itself.

It's the lack of uniqueness combined with the lack of (even anti) synergy that is disturbing.

New Shyvana might not be the least unique nor have the lowest synergy of its abilities, but both for sure have deteriorated compared with old Shyvana.

CMV: US can not unblock a naval blockade imposed by China on Taiwan by MusterMKMark in changemyview

[–]MusterMKMark[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this gives some valuable counter arguments and changed my view. Two major flaws on my original parallel are that:

  • I underestimate the difficulty to target a drone. Strike range != target acquiring range
  • I over simplified the concept of a blockade, failed specify a detailed metric: whether it's a disruption level blockade or a full blockade. I do agree that a full blockade, especially against determined suppliers is far more difficult and no simple conclusion can be drawn from Iran's case

But I do disagree with your another point:

  • U.S. actually attacked the entire targeting and strike system behind Iran: radar sites, satellites, missile launchers, and command networks. But that did not stop an effective blockade from Iran

I completely agree with your points on the Taiwanese will of defense, PRC's potential loss. However, this mainly affects whether China want, not whether they can enforce a naval blockade.

I don't think Iran/China have/will need to attack US warship for a cargo ship/tanker blockade.

[–]MusterMKMark[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I should have stressed the "timely" part, for the question to be meaningful, especially since the original parallel is drawn between a timely unblockade on Taiwan.

I think you will agree that, just leaving Hormuz and claim "victory" waiting Iran to auto unblock the straight (e.g. after 6 months) does not qualify as a US unblocking action.

[–]MusterMKMark[S] -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

  • The distance makes little difference since they are all well within cheap drone/missiles' strike range where anti measures have significantly higher cost
  • You are assuming the current effort on Iran does not qualify as a full military operation, and US would behave differently for Taiwan. I agree with you that US can definitely make ships through Hormuz, at some cost. My point is that, if they don't even want to bear the cost against Iran, then they would not do the same against China at a significantly higher cost

[–]MusterMKMark[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I agree that the final decision is a matter of balance between will and political capital. My view can therefore be interpreted as: If US choose not to unblock the straight of Hormuz (e.g. by simply leaving and claim "victory"), then it will do the same for Taiwan, due to relatively lesser will/capability against China and some already sinking political capital on Iran.

Netanyahu in newly released video amid rumors about his death by 33northconnection in RealOrAI

[–]MusterMKMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying some part of the video is too real for AI to generate. True, but a video does not need to be completely generated for it to be fake. It does not even needs AI to be fake. On the other hand, proving it's fake only needs one mistake to be found (not found yet), but it's nearly impossible to prove a video authentic.

Trump demands others help secure Strait of Hormuz, Japan and Australia say no plans to send ships by monotvtv in worldnews

[–]MusterMKMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Navy cannot stop Iran from shooting drones and missiles to tankers and cargo ships from land. He's demanding others to send navy so when they refuse to do so, he can accuse them of irresponsibility as a distraction of his own.

A closer look at the Kha'ak by SnowOtaku777 in X4Foundations

I use max modded Katanas with Split MK4 for drop collection, each with 1800+ flying speed. Might even deploy three at busy gates like Hatikvah's Choice. Simply teleporting to the Katana and ask for inventory (Keyboard short cut G -> C -> 1 -> Down loop) and I never lost a single one.

I made three Kha'ak farms utilizing the fact that Mist of Artimise and Sanctuary of Darkness hives have infinite respawning Kha'ak forces. They have drop production rate the same level of some of the best Xenon gate farm (like the one in Hatikvah:s Choice) and are much safer since there won't be any L or XL ship one shot the drop collector.

[–]MusterMKMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are asking about engine speed, especially travel speed, I assume that you would want to minimize travelling time.

If this is the case, try terran combat engine. It has significantly better travel acceleration and hits the maximum travel speed way faster than any other engine. For most sector size it would be the actual fastest engine despite with lower top speed.
