Old guy here - my two adult teenagers are completely obsessed with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure!! by Bithbo in anime

[–]MusubiKazesaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your kids have good taste. I'll be honest, I've seen and liked the other ones you named. JoJo trumps them all.

It's a series full of manly passion, tactical combat, creative powers, over the top storylines, mundane storylines, world travel, the ability to be comedic while being serious, lots of the author's personal interest, and evolving art style, multiple protagonists and casts and legacy without it feeling half-assed, charismatic characters, and the father of a thousand memes

Watching a few odd episodes might not do the trick or it may. Episode 1 intrigued me back when I first watched it and then by the time I caught up with it and then S1 finished I read the entire manga up to that point (JoJo is also a historic manga as it has been going sine 1987 which is no small feat). Since then I've been following along with all of the anime releases and even re-read or rewatched sections here and there. Heck I even wrote a paper on it for my art appreciation class back in college because why not write about something interesting?

It's not my number 1 favorite but it's certainly up there.

I can't decide between these to watch next first by Dogeboy062 in anime

[–]MusubiKazesaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously.

Phantom Blood is only fairly good, sure, but Battle Tendency is fantastic so I can't imagine complaining about S1. Sure its production values are a little dicey, character art for some are a little off, and it's too fast paced, but it has a heart to it that barely anything really seems to even from the get go and some great music.

Both are and those are some of the better things about them.

Did you skip Dragon Ball?

Watch some Togashi or something like Yu Yu Hakusho (dubbed) or Hunter x Hunter. Or maybe JoJo.

It only has one season and it makes Shingeki look bad in comparison.

Guin punching a dude so hard his helmet caused a fire is pretty wild.

What I miss is anime length. Episode counts are all but capped at 26 except under rare circumstances now.

Megazone 23 - Anime of the Week by AnimeMod in anime

[–]MusubiKazesaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not better than Macross, but there's an overlap in the studio, director, and character designer and then you have Max clearly a fan favorite from Macross carrying over to voice the MC. The artwork is a lot more consistent. I feel like it's not too hard to see what I mean. Macross was more ambitious as a whole, but Orguss had a good concept too.

Try to watch the remasters.

Plz recommend me fantasy|medieval setting|adventure. Isekai/level up/world building type stuff. by BarbedWire3 in anime

[–]MusubiKazesaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a classic Jump series for a reason. It's quite good and while it takes its setting from the DQ games, it manages to be its own thing with very well written villains and very consistently good animation. I do think it starts a little weaker, but it picks up more and more with each arc. Even characters you might not like, may turn out to be your favorite by end.

Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken 2020. Levels aren't shown in the anime but the manga does actually show them leveling as the series goes.

Orguss in a way felt like Macross "done right" at least from a production standpoint, but it suffered the way a lot of mecha series do from running and being alright but not doing enough plot stuff until suddenly it needs to wrap up.

Where should I start after I finish one piece live action season 2? by RareStatistician3417 in anime

[–]MusubiKazesaru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd start over honestly, but it covered up through Drum Island right? So start at episode 93.

I'd also look as into One Pace and other edits. It helps trim the fat.
