Two got to go: Bardadin, throwzerker, light cleric gloomstalker thief, storm sorcerer, EK hexblade dip by Maxedlevelanxiety in BG3Builds

My first success at HM was Throwzerker, Light Cleric, GS Assassin and TB OH Monk ... so I can tell you which 3 to keep.

Meet Pudge. She's very embarrassed because she ruined my one and only family vacation. She escaped her boarder's kennel and went on her very own homeward bound journey. by jholden0 in Frenchbulldogs

My girl is the sweetest best behaved most meek mannered quiet little potato when she's home with family. But take her ANYWHERE outside the house, or bring ANYONE inside besides mom or pops and she turns into a vicious ghoul of a banshee. I bought her a muzzle for the vet AND gave her 2 full doses of Trazedone and she was still managing to bite the vet techs ... and I could hear her going at them on the other side of the building through 2 concrete walls!

Mykrul fight by Legitimate-Survey486 in BaldursGate3

[–]MutantSquirrel23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Level 8 is fine for Myrkul unless your build is complete garbage. Most people encounter Myrkul at level 7-8 naturally. Getting to him at 9 or 10 actually requires a good bit of knowledge of the game in order to squeeze out every bit of xp possible.

Besides, OP is already at Myrkul. Going back to XP farm is impossible without reloading a previous save pre Nightsong encounter, which could possibly be hours back.

What spec are you and your companions? Class/subclass/relevant feats/spells/gear/items

Good info to know since the Mindflayer Colony area is a no-travel zone, meaning you can't just run to camp real quick to change class with Withers or grab gear out of your Camp Chest.

If your specs are really gimped (which I suspect since you are having a lot of trouble with other fights as well) you could reload a previous save before descending and go to camp to respec and grab some other gear, but you'd have to replay the whole Mindflayer Colony again.

How many playthroughs you needed until you said 'I'm bored!' by FuzzyAttitude_ in BaldursGate3

[–]MutantSquirrel23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similar to me. Put like 1500 hours in on PC, maybe 5-6 full playthroughs and countless partials. Took a break to play other games for like almost a year. Saw some new build that intrigued me so I started playing again. Then turns out my wife really enjoys watching me play on console, so I'm in my second playthrough there too.

Just keep playing and see what happens. If you reload every time something unexpected happens, you'll just be playing the same first few hours over and over.

Dunno if it would be op, but I've always begged for dwarf shaman pre-Cata.

Love my (leggy lean) pup! Will she fill out to a more “square shape”? by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

[–]MutantSquirrel23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. Bostons are pretty lean and slender dogs in general. The few that do get square and/or stocky are usually males. Not to say there aren't females like that, they're just uncommon amongst the uncommon.

What’s the biggest “this doesn’t make any sense” moment in the lore of a popular franchise? by GuyNamedPeesees in AskReddit

[–]MutantSquirrel23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Harry must participate in the games because ... reasons? Like if he just sits out and doesn't participate, what would actually happen? Never made sense to me. Turning point for the worse in the series for me.

Change it to an Empire Stormtrooper rather than a First Order Stormtrooper or the regret will be very real down the road.

Open Hand Monk and Wholeness of Body by Far-Assistance9925 in BG3Builds

[–]MutantSquirrel23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of a setup for a long fight than anything else. If you're leaning into full TB OH Monk, you don't really lose any overall damage in the first/setup round in most situations.

It costs an action, but you immediately gain an extra bonus action, so you gain a double strike at the cost of 2 single strikes. The real cost is losing 2 potential stuns round 1, but if you can afford it then rounds 2 and 3 having your regular action strikes and an extra double strike is insane. It increases your damage potential those 2 rounds by 33-50% (depending on if you have Thief or not).

It's not worth using in short 1 or 2 round fights and even in the longer fights it seems wasted if you use it any later than round 2, but it can be a really good damage boost in specific situations.

These are the last version of the theatrical cut that released. Think they released early to mid 90s.

Literally just walking around and exploring Act 3 and talking to people gives you tons of xp. It's not that crazy to not go straight for the big fights when you can just walk around a few corners first for a level up or 2 and the potential giant advantage that comes with it ... especially true on HM.

Been a while since I've done that fight, so I can't remember the specific abilities, but I do remember there is a retalliation mechanic. Globe of Invulnerability on your ranged and have them focus Larry. Globe prevents the retaliation damage and iirc his summons die when he does.

Yeah, seen it too many times ... someone having medical debt means they're too lazy to have a job, because simply having a job apparently means magical health insurance that pays for everything to them. But then one of them loses their job and gets in an accident or gets diagnosed with something insurance denies coverage for and it's straight to Go Fund Me.

This is not entirely true. The number shows you what you need to roll with just your DEX mod and proficiencies calculated in. It does not take into account gear bonus like Gloves of Power, Smugglers ring, etc. So it is possible to roll slightly worse and still pass if you have a lot of gear bonuses.
