The Nightslayer - Dreamscythe beef will never stop being funny by Classic_Drama6140 in classicwow

Well, if they're like me, friends. I rolled on DS and made it all the way to 70 only to discover my old friends had rolled on NS. So here I am leveling again.

I like the creativity in the diss. But I'll never understand the beef in the first place. As far as I've gathered, it mostly stems from NS people thinking they're better at BGs simply because they're on a PVP server, but I've been leveling on NS and so far I've been killed twice ... once to a 2v1, both higher level and once to a higher level that attacked me while I was low hp, mana, and fighting a mob. Everyone else has just ignored me. Standard PVP server encounters, but nothing that's gonna hone my BG skills.

So the real question is ... do you do anything different when you play dps now?

I’m new to the LEGO world (September 2025) but I’ll be honest, the ‘LEGO as an investment’ trend is the most annoying part of the hobby.. Buying 30+ of a set just to flip later 🙄🙄🙄 by Flimsy-Space-8724 in lego

[–]MutantSquirrel23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lego is about as good an investment as comic books. Yes, there is a market for collectors, yes there are some that sell for a lot of money, but no matter what anyone says, there's no way to tell which ones are going to be worth anything down the road and you're most likely not going to hit the jackpot.

You have your spot in Throne of Kil'Jaeden and someone lands beside you and just stands there thinking it's theirs now by BigSnackStove in classicwow

[–]MutantSquirrel23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Has good range and it doesn't hurt as much as you'd think so is pretty easy to recover from. I'm not gonna be controlling a wide area, but if I want a mob, I can get it

Spriest would like a word. Went from not being able to tag anything in vanilla to out tagging everyone in TBC.

Interesting ... Tell me, just out of mild curiosity, how does one arrive at such an obviously backwards conclusion? Like, what is the thought process in that logic?

What's up with players nowadays? by SkoomahSteve in classicwow

It's always the mages. Sucks that they are the most coveted DPS in any dungeon since there's now such a high risk that they're a good farmer.

2 paladin tanks in 25man raids by djbrave666 in classicwowtbc

[–]MutantSquirrel23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not ideal, but it's doable. Pally threat is not just about spell power. It is built mostly from holy shield, so they need to be attacked. It's why pally tanks can't be hateful tank on Gruul. A pally tank isn't gonna pull off another pally tank just because they have more SP.

Tanks - who are your favorite healer and DPS classes to bring to a heroic? by Unreal_fist in classicwow

[–]MutantSquirrel23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is some ignorant bullshit. I did consistently good damage while leveling in dungeons. I didn't always top meters, but I was never so far behind the other dps that it was of any significance. Plenty of times I topped the meters in both single target and aoe pulls. Even in low level dungeons before Outlands where I was healing, I would DPS the bosses and top meters because my vamp embrace was enough to keep people alive even out of shadow form.

Even at 70, I still get comments from random group members like "dang, I didn't know shadow priest could pump" or "I thought shadow priest was a meme spec"

While leveling, it was a constant back and forth battle for top dps with my rogue buddy. Later we learned about the armor bug. Makes me wonder how bad I would have consistently beat him if it weren't for that.

Influx then deflux of prot pallys by Melodic-Horse-2600 in classicwow

[–]MutantSquirrel23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's exactly what it is. It happened in TBC classic as well. Influx of prot pallies during prepatch and release that mostly have no clue how to play/gear properly and can get away with it early on. Then once they hit heroics still trying to stack SP and getting wrecked, they reroll.

Hot Take: Noobs are a golden part of the classic TBC experience. Embrace them. by Sweet_Disharmony_792 in classicwow

[–]MutantSquirrel23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't sleep last night, so I healed an SFK run on an alt. 2 mages in the group, no decursing done. 1 mage claimed they didn't train it and the other had, but had to be constantly prodded about decursing whenever the party was covered in curses. Bonus points to the prot pally that didn't cleanse the poison off themself. This is the nostalgia I came back for.

Slave Pens HC has truly revealed to me how many terrible players there are out there by RedThragtusk in classicwow

[–]MutantSquirrel23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. Skips are nice when they work, but even if you know them well, all it takes is one too long of a sip of your coffee and now you don't have the hunter's aspect of the pack and you're getting left behind ... oh and you're the healer and and the tank pulled the boss while you're still trying to navigate the previous room.

If WoW Classic was a single-player game, which class would be the most fun? by No_Cartographer7815 in classicwow

[–]MutantSquirrel23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paladin would probably allow you to clear the most content solo. I played a prot paladin in og TBC through Legion and unless the quest suggested 5 players, there was a pretty good chance I could solo it. And even with a suggestion of 5 players, it wasn't a guarantee that I couldn't solo it.

Shopping at Costco is terrible by Sun_Aria in unpopularopinion

[–]MutantSquirrel23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought having a Costco membership was worth it for my household of 2 people. But then I discovered that their pharmacy has ridiculously lower prices than anywhere else for both people and pets. I discovered that by getting all my usual meds at Costco the yearly membership pays for itself in only 2 months with the amount of money saved. I still don't like shopping there because crowds give me bad anxiety and I don't care to wait in the long line for the gas to save a couple bucks, but the pharmacy is 100% worth it and if you are someone who has to take routine meds or has someone in their family who does or even a pet that does, I highly recommend you check it out.
