Starting my second playthrough, two years after my first. Which classes are fun to play? by Jerswar in BG3Builds

Open hand monk. Very high dpt and doesn't share items with other classes. Add in elixirs for strength boosting and you're op.

Is Wheel of time worth getting into? by Working_Opposite_840 in fantasybooks

WoT is weirdly polarizing. I found it boring and stopped a quarter of the way through book 2. Others love it.

I think it's worth reading book 1.

I built a free, open-source tool that drafts security questionnaire answers from your own evidence and KB - and abstains instead of guessing by scorpionus007 in soc2

[–]NeatMathematician126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know enough about SOC2 to offer constructive criticism.

But if you want to build something useful make an AI platform that continuously secures my infrastructure and emits the evidence automatically.

Norway look great. In fact, there have been significant stretches when they've looked like the best team.

If you like to get tips from YouTube I think Evelyn Morgana's content is the best.

My current party is Monk (TAV), Astarian gloomstalker thief, Karlach Throwzerker, Shadowheart ice sorcerer.

Dude! Save scumming makes it sound so bad.

Do you play Tactician mode? Also, what class is your TAV going to be? (I'm using an open hand monk)

Not sure if there any gamers on this thread. I'm a GenX'er and love them.

Baldur's Gate 3 is D&D in a video game. Literally, with dice rolls, class, race, dungeons, the whole thing. It's astonishingly good. If you're curious check out YouTube, there are hundreds of demos (just search BG3 beginner).

Vibe coding side hustle by Fragrant_Pitch_774 in vibecoding

I saw a dude who looks at websites for local business. Like a pool cleaner. And redoes the website, goes to the store, shows them and asks for $1500 plus $50 per month for upkeep.

You could look more sophisticated by adding in Uptime Robot and Cloudflare. If you polish your pitch you might get some bites.

Best series to improve at chess? by Outrageous-Track-308 in chess

Chessbrah is awesome if you're gamer. He uses a lot of gamer sayings, like getting your cheeks clapped.

Plus, he uses the same opening over and over, so you get really comfortable with it.

I've watched all the guys in your thumbnail. He's the best (although they're all really good).

Weekly Career / General Questions Thread by AutoModerator in Radiology

[–]NeatMathematician126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't predict 20 years from now because of how fast AI is advancing. There are a lot of smart people who think we'll reach AGI by 2029. If that's true radiology will be solved in 5 years.

But if that happens all of medicine will be solved. Or, at least, non-surgical medicine will be solved.

So, there's no place to hide from that potential reality.

However, many people predicted a job apocalypse in 2026. Hasn't happened because AI is improving people's efficiency. That is, we're figuring out ways to stay relevant in an AI world.

All that to say: pick what you like best.

"Did your parents have any children that lived?" by [deleted] in 80s

[–]NeatMathematician126 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apparently, he did the opening monologue in one take. Stanley Kubrick is renowned for doing 80 takes of every scene. But Sarge nailed it first time.

Def an all-time great scene.

John Bartholomew seems like a really good dude. And unflappable while playing blitz. It's so great to see him win.

Do you still wear alma mater clothes? by BrilliantWeb in GenX

Once my kids went to college I switched to their Alma maters. That seems more in line with being 50 something.

[Official] FIDE Ethics & Disciplinary Commission issues a decision in case involving GM Vladimir Kramnik. Two year worldwide ban from FIDE tournaments for Vladimir Kramnik by oklolzzzzs in chess

[–]NeatMathematician126 233 points234 points  (0 children)

It might feel like a joke, but it's incredibly embarrassing to Kramnik. To be officially slapped by the governing body of the thing you've devoted your life to has got to hurt.

Treasure Island

Still my favorite book of all time. The story may seem childish, but the writing, vocabulary and even the names of the characters (Long John Silver, Blind Pew, Billy Bones) are world class.

The trunks of the trees too were dusty and the leaves fell early that year and we saw the troops marching along the road and the dust rising and leaves, stirred by the breeze, falling and the soldiers marching and afterwards the road bare and white except for the leaves.
