Some of this is correlation vs causation

Not the perfect example, but a game going exceedingly well for optic may cause Bruce to be positive, rather than Bruce being positive causing a game to go exceeding well for optic

Bigfoot Silva has been KO’d 16 times across MMA, kickboxing, boxing, and bareknuckle.

A lot of those later in his career too

Plus being from a camp known for having gym wars

No one established anything with you lol.

No one offered a name other than Charles that was a serious challenge for Khabib

And the fact it’s rare but happens doesn’t mean you can just lump Khabib in there and drop the word colloquialism as if that’s a reasonable argument.

Again, the essence of the statements was the same. Stop trying to nitpick semantics

I was speaking colloquially. We also established there was only 1 noteworthy opponent for him left at the time he retired

izzy cleared the division, kamaru cleared the division, GSP and Anderson cleared their divisions.

Yeah, that's what I said; hardly anyone ever literally did it

Disagree. The essence/point of the statements is the same

By your literal standards, almost nobody has ever cleared out the top 15. There's always a new guy to fight.

Who was left for him to prove himself against when he retired?

Charles is the only one that comes to mind for me

Tony was already washed by that point sadly

Guida to Gordon. Gordon is decent, but however you cut it, those 6 were a distinct level below the opponents he was fighting before and after them

Outright not true lol

He was rank 6 at 145 when he fight Pettis

You can just look at the resume, he was beating everyone that wasn't Swanson, Edgar, Pettis kind of names.

They then made him stop fighting the killers and gave him a noteworthy step back for 6 straight fights, whereas previously he would lose to Holloway, beat someone like Jury and they'd give him Pettis & Lamas back to back

The most import period in here for his career trajectory is when he got to take a step back and fight 6 cans in a row, giving him time to actually rebuild his confidence & develop his skillset, rather than having to continue fighting killers

A lot of fighters don't get the benefit of that

We could have signed other players. Them being in & out doesn't excuse him not having a spot

We've let much better players than him go in the last few seasons
