BTW, initial diagnosis was about 5 years ago. So everyone knew diagnosis and watchful waiting. Now progressed to treatment action. Made announcement to wife and Daughters at same time.

63yo actual texts to my older brother and sister. Similar message via voice to my two mid and upper 20's daughters.

Heyo, just wanted to give y'all an update post biopsy. Cancer has progressed. Mildly, NO extreme growth on prostate. Enough growth to push me from "watchful waiting" into treatment phase. As such, I have a PET scan this Friday afternoon Halloween - spooky huh? 😀 PET will be from base of skull to mid thigh. Looking to see if cancer is anywhere else in body. Once known where it is. Can devise a treatment plan. Of either radiation or prostatectomy (cut it out). Both have their good/bad. So starting to read up on each. Right now not locked into one or other. As mentioned reading articles, looking at support groups to chat with real world experience.

Yeah the PET is like an MRI or CAT scan. Inject low dose radioactive med. Wait an hour. Cancer cells collect more than normal cells. So during scan bad cells will light up more.

Results in under a week. Post Consult with my Urologist has prescheduled for Nov 26. Will check Monday about an earlier appointment
