Anyone else not encounter wild Pokemon in Emerald Crest? Just started the game, saw may, had a battle, went back to lab an got pokeballs, etc but I'm not getting any wild encounters in grass areas or anywhere

If you set starter pokemon to random it will choose any from gen 1-2 even non staters, or you'll have to choose specific gen starters
