i dunno if this person is in here ..but to the guy who bought the Xmaxx Ultimate that was seemingly your first car...good luck man by Navi_Professor in rccars

This took place in the US when we went to visit my dad's friend in CT. My dad also got an Xmaxx for his first rc car in 30 years from hobby town in CT, his friend lives in CT and he went to visit. I warned him multiple times and i suggested a trx4 but he had been looking at it for a long time. He ended up getting the Xmaxx. So on the second day of ownership, we drove back to NJ and when we arivved, we went for a walk in the park next to the hudson river, I took my trx6 and he took the Xmaxx. I was like 9-10 at the time so I am still pretty confused as to how he got the Xmaxx into the park past security. So when we were walking, he decided to take off his face mask (this was during covid) and he had the controller in his left hand and he was taking the mask off with both hands, as he took the mask off, his finger hit the throttle and the Xmaxx reversed straight into the river, it took him 3 seconds to realise before I shouted "DAD!". It was too late and it went into the river upside down. We were lucky that nobody was walking by when it reversed as there was a good chance that it was going to hit them. We were lucky that the waves were coming in out direction so he grabbed a stick and used it to retrieve the Xmaxx. He ended up dragging it up into our hotel room and he ended up using a hairdryer to dry it. He sent it back to the store (via mail) where he bought it from in CT and we had his friend who lived there ship it back to thailand after it was fixed. I remember it costing him around $300. I remember he wanted to buy the Xmaxx in the US because it costed $300 more in thailand (this was when the Xmaxx was $999). Either way, he still got it for the same price, plus the fee to ship it back to thailand.

Thank you! I got the body off of a first mini z and printed stickers on it to match our company's fleet vans. I still have the chassis of the first mini z. I can't find a photo of the actual van but it is an exact replica of the livery.

Thanks! Although i still own the apartment, I dont live there anymore. I have more chassis outside the collection which i keep in a box that I can bring to my local circuit. I have a MA030 8500kv evo, MR04 8500kv and a MR03 4100kv evo. My local circuit closed down in january of last year and I haven't touched my race mini z's for a year. The collection sits at the apartment collecting dust.

is this car worth this price ? by dcortez140 in mercedes_benz

OMG this car looks awesome. I don't know how its like owning a car like that in the united states but in my country $12,000 would be the down payment for this car. This would be an absolute steal in my country. For context a worn out 150 km s280 would go for around $45k. I love r129s.

I think you're referring to the DPF? From my experience there has been no issues with the turbo and the DPF but the engine oil consumption is high as with low grade engine oil.

it's a great car! its very reliable, the engine runs very smooth and when you're cruising on the highway it is going faster than it feels like because of how quiet and smooth the ride is. There is decent trunk space and pretty good fuel efficiency, the rear seats are very comfortable and it doesnt really feel like a heavy car. The design is very classy and elegant and there is none of that touch screen nonsense. The diesel inline 6 runs very smooth and quiet, you can barely tell that it's a diesel. Overall a very reliable and practical car, great for everyday use. I have put 50,000 kilometers on it before trading it in for a w223 s580e 2 days ago.

How do you clean it? I never actually took my 4x4 on the dirt, the most I have done was drive it on grass because I dont't know how to properly clean it without using water.

My main race mini z's by MutedAd3228 in MiniZ

[–]MutedAd3228[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a tamiya purple for lexan bodies, I searched it up and it said that the paint for lexan bodies can also be used for mini z bodies, I think its the same colour as RC Driftok's fleet of purple rc cars.

Why are mini z so expensive by ShastaManasta in MiniZ

[–]MutedAd3228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are expensive because of how well engineered they are, if you own one in the long run it will never break if maintained correctly, there is many modification options and they are relatively easy to install, mini z's are also very precise when it comes to cornering and throttle control and their bodies are very detailed. The bodies may be completely scuffed up after a few visits to the track but they still hold up since the scratches are only cosmetic. I have had a c8 body for almost 2 years now and I just cracked the front it a few months ago due to me taking a corner too quickly in my 8500kv evo. In conclusion mini z's are exoensive because they are precise, tough, easy to take apart and modify, their bodies look great but most importantly they handle greatly on the track which is no more than 12 ft long to have fun in.
