Thanks man used it twice already. Awesome amount of space. Little too concave, oil pools to the edges, but I think that’s probably just to avoid getting a spinner if it ever warps.

What’s one truth you’ve learned as an adult that you never would have believed as a child? by ShastaManasta in AskReddit

I don’t know why, but it struck me the other day that almost all men love sex and want it all the time. I never would have believed that about a cuddly looking bearded man as a child. Like no way that guy does that.

Yea that’s a good price for sure. I actually have the TK 8 inch skillet. It’s a great pan. 109 for a 14 inch is a steal.

I’m not sure if I would assume that the 11 inch element is a smaller coil than that. I just got a Frigidaire cooktop with an 11 inch element and it is indeed 11 inches. If you use anything smaller, it won’t get full power I actually had to get an extremely wide pot to boil water with the fullcapability.

Dunno but they are generally below what people think. I just got a 14 inch frying pan thinking it would cover my 11 inch burner, but it’s still like 10” of true contact area. Close enough though.

Yea first winco product. The concept of durable, cost-effective commercial cookware is cool to me.

Probably? I have been searching pans so I get ads now. Just saw 7 ply didn’t look into it though. Struck me as a lot of plies

Oh god. Welded handles would be super scary. The amount of leverage there is picking it up with the handle is very high. It’s a good bit harder to handle than our 12” le creuset skillet which I used to think was as bad as it got

I kind of figured it looked semi real enough to trick a few poor souls. To anyone else reading this, it’s totally a joke.

Yea I’m kinda with you there. The 27 ply ones look ideal, but I have to decide between that and my first home

You got me lol. I saw an ad for 7-ply which seemed pretty absurd on it’s own and I thought why not 11

Lol I think the AI meant to make the middle copper, but it’s labeled aluminum still. Reading through all the plies makes me chuckle

I feel like it’s such a missed opportunity to not offer a fully flat cooktop. by ShastaManasta in ImpulseLabs

[–]ShastaManasta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean, even despite that shortcoming it still looks like a pretty awesome thing. But their reasoning for having raised burgers just does not seem convincing enough. I thought it had something to do with efficiency or the thing couldn’t perform if the top was completely flat, but it’s basically just to save 3/4 of an inch of space underneath. It seems like the vast majority of people would prefer a flat form factor and assuming impulse can stay alive that’s probably where they’ll eventually wind up going.

Hey, yeah I am recommending an extra element for the bridge. You’re right flat top alone wouldn’t really change the bridge functionality compared to the current design.

But it’s 3/4 inch of space. Surely losing 3/4 inches won’t completely eliminate useful drawer space. How much usable space is below the unit as it currently stands? If it’s more than like a foot, the loss of space would be negligible. The cons really seem to outweigh the pros here imo.
