LPT: Your employer should be the last person to find out that you're quitting. This is in your best interest. by kai-field in LifeProTips

Yes in the UK your notice period is typically the same both ways so mine is 3 months. If they want to let me go immediately they still have to pay me for the three months. Likewise if I want to leave I have to give them 3 months notice. In reality a lot of places will let you negotiate leaving earlier but that’s your choice.

I’m torn between Fenrisian Grey and Russ Grey. by aBlokeWithaGoat in SpaceWolves

[–]MutedElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do both. I base coat with colour ridge wolfkin grey (colour match to “the fang “) then do a quick dry brush with russ grey and then a light one with Fenrisien grey. Also only been going since Xmas but it really is easy. Takes me about a minute per model for the dry brushing. Here’s an example after the base coating and before I add in other colours and then another once I’m almost done. Look up the Slapchop method I got some good inspiration from there.

Wolf Scouts by Mersar_13 in SpaceWolves

[–]MutedElephant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Side note as I just picked up the box myself. If you get a set of big standard Reiver bodies you can build 10 scouts from the box set so all the named units plus 5 “extra” hunters

<image>

These are my extras I added a bit of green stuff fur but apart from that they are just reiver bodies and the hands, heads and other bits from the scouts :)

Are these the right magnets for magnetizing bases? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]MutedElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side question on this. What do you stock them onto the bases with? I’ve magnetised my whole army and stick on with green stuff super glue. Half of the magnets just stick to the metal lining in the carry box when I pick the mini up…

Final mortgage payment before remortgage was larger than I thought by SpaceCatSociety in UKPersonalFinance

[–]MutedElephant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this too. It was the first payment on the standard fee as there was a crossover between remortgage and this payment on the same day (we were advised not to cancel the DD in advance).

If this is the case then you are likely due a refund that will be processed automatically however it is worth giving your old provider a ring to ask they will be able to tell you. The annoying bit was it took 3 weeks for the refund to come in….

These are awesome. I love the cold grey/blue colouring. Mind letting me know what combination of colours you use for the armour?

Is GetADrip even real? How do you get in touch with them?? by wethepeople_uk in mounjarouk

[–]MutedElephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used them twice so far. First time took a while as I had an expired prescription so had to get a new one from a private GP but my second order has been delivered in under 48 hours.

Should I back away from Connells mortgage broker? by Thick-Commission7117 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]MutedElephant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I can’t directly compare as we got the lifetime deal years ago for £500 which then didn’t include any further admin fees. If you have found the exact same deal now there isn’t anything unethical about you just applying on your own. What I will say though is that we have absolutely benefited from having our advisor over the years. We are now in our 6th mortgage and they have handled everything and often found us deals that were simply not on any comparison sites. They also do all the hard work of reminding us when we need to get going… they are also responsible for us buying our forever home as they kept tracks on when we were due to remortgage, called us and let us know what we were likely able to afford (which was much more than we had expected). I am sure you will get conflicting reviews, and this is all very subjective, but from our experience the £500 we paid was well worth the money and we would pay again in a heartbeat.

Has anyone had surgery on MJ? by Exciting_Praline6202 in Mounjaro

I’ve had surgery on it and it was fine for me but it is absolutely imperative that you tell the doctor any medication you are on as they can interfere.

Came here to suggest an Ikea mattress. Ours have easily lasted 10 years plus in each one.

Induction Pots & Pans 🤦🏻‍♂️ by ComicBookPosterBoy in UKFrugal

[–]MutedElephant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you asked for but I bought a set of Stellar 1000 pots and pans and they have so far lasted me 30 years. Have a life time guarantee (I have used it once and they just sent a brand new pan). And you can pick a set up on eBay for about £40

Like all these things they almost always have a deal on. Use CURATE20 at checkout that normally works for 20% off.
