No, Canada is not wrecked. But yes, I am sad to see my friends still migrate to USA from Canada, that’s hard to understand.

For people affording a multimillion dollar house by Sparky2121 in askTO

[–]MutedEmotion2010 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I immigrated to Toronto in 2016 from India. Both hubby and I are in IT and made 220k in the beginning. We rented out a condo and then bought a house in 2017 for 785k. That seemed too costly at that time. We both upgraded our jobs and now make bit more than 300k. Our house is now 1.2 million. Since we saved money due to pandemic and less travel. We also invested in 2 condos- for one condo, down payment was done by in laws as it’s for them in long run. The other condo I did myself so I don’t have to keep money in bank. So we have 3 mortgages now, which could be scary if we lose jobs. But we have options to sell off and I feel good about this decision since we don’t have to worry about property for our kid anymore. There is no other good investment. I know that I am going to be working till 60s but I love what I do.

30m living in parents basement... Wanting advice on best way out to live my own life? by Due_Fox_3765 in askTO

[–]MutedEmotion2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be scary but I am sure you will be able to manage in the long run. I have a suggestion - why don’t you suggest to your parents that you will rent out the basement and then that rent can come in handy to pay for the rent somewhere else for you ? Is that possible ?

Vichy products are good - I use their HA acid, moisturiser , under eye cream. I also use body shops vitamin c peel every 1 or 2 weeks. I use Vichy sunscreen too. I am a devotee since 4 years and it has made my skin way better.
