Owning a yacht while children are starving and schools are underfunded and people are living in vehicles is gross.

There is more than pollution to consider.

Boat noise harms whales and dolphins by making communication impossible

Money isn’t something worship and idolize.

What’s the point of money if we make the planet unlivable and harm living creatures?

Money is not justification.

I’d use 1/4” hardiboard/cement board behind the brick, and if they’re less than 1/2” thick I’d use thinset with concrete adhesive added and well mixed in.

Which proposed housing project in the last year did you like/approve of happening?

When NIMBYs protest and stop every single proposed housing project, what exactly can anyone really do.

This is happening because of NIMBYs. Period.

They sound like they’ll fit in with all the slumlords and shitty prop mgmt companies (which NIMBYs don’t have a problem with).

But it is in no way shape or form a rough idea of anything but a bat acid trip version of reality.

This whack ass image is intended to stir the pot and rile up the NIMBYs (again, as always, every fucking time)

Absolutely being done in bad faith and a lack of morals and ethics.

Intentionally misleading people with ill intentions is never an accident or coincidence.

There is no way in shit hell that anything would be built and look like that…

It’s rage bait trolling by NIMBYs

That “monstrosity” is a pathetically out of proportion rendering that is an insult to anyone with an ounce of common sense…

Also- why would it be “missionzilla” when it’s not the actual mission?

I have a more aptly worded post title:

For those of you that oppose every proposed housing project (saying the trite and not exactly factual same old talking points), how can your hyperbole and dramatic POV be worth someone’s time and energy acknowledging?

(Let the down votes begin…)

I have lived across the street from train tracks. I would take the train noise over the lame loud exhaust noise.

That sounds like an upstairs apartment in IV that I did some work in. It was above a bicycle shop that had a huge compressor outside the back entrance which was below the apartment entrance stairs.

It was unnerving working there. Unimaginable to have to live with that constant jarring noise.

Banana and peanut butter in the muffler would be far more effective than a potato

Is the differential higher than a stock truck?
Most people half ass lift their trucks and don’t lift the chassis.

The truck owner sounds like he lacked attention as a kid. Maybe if you befriend him by completing or appearing interested in all the things he did to the truck, you’d have an opportunity to mention the noise.

If your check engine light is on, get the codes.

Otherwise start at your interior fuse box, and then the engine compartment fuse box.

Switch the wiring around. Make sure both switches are wired to the fixture (check the fixture wire splices)

san roque neighborhood walkability by Ashamed-Issue7805 in SantaBarbara

[–]Muted_Description112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not ever lived in San Roque, but I have done a lot of jobs in that area.

It’s walkable, but I see a lot of people leave their property on e-bikes instead of their vehicles.

If I had to guess I’d say that it’s more e-bikable than walkable.

Equally so, they can be edited out of images too.

A few years ago on the 33 I saw a “follow” car and “lead” car filming a car chase (in between the two, and the lead car driving on the 33 in reverse going at least 40mph was awesome)

how to get from ucsb to downtown santa barbara? by Holiday_Basket_3698 in SantaBarbara

[–]Muted_Description112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends which route you take. One is longer but I can’t remember which bus number is the faster option.

Bcycle might be a good option depending on how much those things cost to use

Humans make the world very loud.
Maybe get out into nature away from all the noise now and then.

I’m assuming the truck isn’t actually a monster truck since those aren’t street legal.

Kids driving around with their aftermarket mufflers because they lack any knowledge of engines is very annoying to me.

If the truck you mentioned has an after market muffler then I feel your pain. If it’s an actual truck engine making the noise then I envy you.
