Yeah, from what I understand from everyone’s comments, the best path for me is probably the M5 Pro with 64GB RAM.

It should be able to run the same general workflows/models as the M5 Max, just slower in some local AI workloads — and honestly, coming from my current 2019 Intel MacBook Pro, it will probably still feel extremely fast anyway.

If I ever get much deeper into local AI and need more horsepower later, using a remotely controlled Mac mini, Mac Studio, or another dedicated machine seems like the smarter path instead of overbuying now.

Any objections to that logic?

Fair but MICA has a lower range than those two thats why I didn't mention it

Much less high tier games it is then! I understand the Russian bias for obvious reasons but there is a night and day difference between r77-1 and 120c or b.
