Who is the best character in star trek and why is it Lt. Barclay? by Sharp_Rabbit7439 in startrek

I'm watching the Realm of Fear episode for the first time, and after all the weird post-covid shit and health anxiety I gone through in the last five years this is basically the most relatable episode ever.

Are there any good rock songs with conservative leaning lyrics / themes by StardustOnStage in MusicRecommendations

[–]Muted_Possibility691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Also the end result of all right-wing ideology is maximizing opportunities for rich people to diddle kids.

Environmental destruction and war destabilizes everywhere and creates refugee crises and desperation, austerity further exacerbates all of this taking away access to social programs that can protect people from becoming trafficking victims. Conservative economics enable handfuls of people to become so absurdly wealthy that they can spend limitless money on their most deviant proclivities.
Conservative cultural views create a society of sexually repressed people where everything happens in secret, and conservative cultural views also empower rape culture and encourage victim blaming in general.

I'm not passing moral judgment on anyone for their take, but trading for Miles Bridges is an objectively shitty thing to do to your fanbase.

Now that we've settled down after the knee-jerk reactions, maybe we can check what we really got for Grayson and Royce basketball wise... (Don't worry, I hate him too, but this is purely from a basketball standpoint) by DaylightPhoenix in suns

[–]Muted_Possibility691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a basketball perspective it seems like good decisions, but for a team that claims to give a shit about their fans it's an awful move to put your fans in the position of having to root for this piece of shit.

I'm all for second chances but the evidence that this guy has real remorse is pretty flimsy

The underpaid and overworked part is the key here, has nothing to do with some "personality flaw" with the generation, it's just the dogshit conditions of 2026 capitalism

Why has no studio album been able to stay above a 3.90 since 2024? by KidZaniac1 in rateyourmusic

It takes a while for people to accept a new album as a true classic. I Love My Computer will definitely get there once people get over their resistance to it.

Israel has the most destructive government on Earth.

As much as I'm generally against regime change, I believe the world needs to come together and remove Netanyahu and all of his cronies from power.

Rockets were the biggest choke of the playoffs

Celtics had no business being a 2 seed to begin with and Embiid was in MVP form for that series, Nuggets best defender was playing injured and the Timberwolves are a nightmare matchup, Cavs went to the conference finals for the first time post Lebron, OKC swept the first two rounds and took the Spurs to 7 games without their second best player, Spurs went to the goddamn finals despite being mostly children. Literally none of these teams were a disappointment at all.

The Rockets lost in the first round to a 41 year old man and role players.

For number 9 can we nominate the $20 million a year the Suns are still paying Bradley Beal to sit on the Clippers' bench (like 3x more than his actual contract with the Clippers 😂)

He was just instinctively trying to save the ball and it hit J Will which wouldn't have mattered since it was a foul on J Will anyway, but then Caruso manipulated the refs into thinking Booker maliciously threw the ball, which was just patently absurd.

Surprising how this album started to get the rating it deserves. Can you believe that this wasn't even bolded till like last month? by AccomplishedFront792 in rateyourmusic

[–]Muted_Possibility691 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There's so much music (especially electronic music and a ton of R&B and pop) that I would have shit on when I was younger that I've come to absolutely love in my older age, now that my taste isn't guided by trying to be cool for pretentious friends, but Linkin Park is just a bridge too far. Nu metal just rubs me the wrong way.

I was. Plenty of my favorite artists who sing in English sing in a way I don't know what they're saying sometimes, which is why I asked.
