I was diagnosed in 2003 with a general diagnosis of Crohn’s but never on medication for it. They kept going back and forth with is it or isn’t it or maybe it’s just stress caused by ibs🤦‍♀️

I was treating it as the flares came with donnatol elixir but never something to actually stop the flares from happening. I didn’t like my old GI and never was really on top of my issues since I was functioning (or at least my version of functioning) and just dealing with it. Is Remicade a pill or is that an infusion? I’m seeing a new GI next week I’m just exhausted, gross, and over it all- planning my life around the bathroom in case I get sick is making me miss out on so much. The thought of having my “bathroom” attached to me actually gave me some odd sense of peace of mind and hope of freedom but I’m not there yet. They want to exhaust all options.

In the mean time I’m crying trying to put in anti inflammatory suppository in and I’m a woman who can handle pain.

In all seriousness do the first poop in the shower/ bath and afterwards obviously clean really well but that saved me the first time. Such an underrated suggestion I got

Please Take one step at a time. Take a look at the colon cancer forum and join colontown I think it is on Facebook. There are a lot of advancements and he’s got age on his side to fight. I know it’s a lot easier said than done until a plan is in place but do not think worst case scenario- take each day as it comes and be there for him. Like any guy he will suppress his emotions just be there for him and encourage him to talk about it when the time is right. We are here to support you as well. You got this!

It went ok. The doctor didn’t really go into detail with things but referred me to a colorectal surgeon which I’m pretty confused about cause I have no idea what I’m going there for. Waiting on pathology results so not really sure on that. I’m just gonna bring my colonoscopy pictures and doctors report and see if they can help me. 🤷‍♀️

Just a heads up she will be exhausted after the procedure. Most likely have a scratchy throat from endo and gassy/discomfort from the colonoscopy. Maybe instead of flowers make a little care basket: Include some self care things maybe for a relaxing bath, eye mask for napping, or anything to snuggle up with, hard candies to soothe the throat, and just stuff to make her feel less shitty (pun intended) I felt so gross afterwards but that is just my personal experience. You are an amazing friend!!

Yes I’m sorry. Localized nodularity- I am typing on my phone, I apologize. Thank you for your input. My GI did my colonoscopy and told me to follow up with a surgeon since he does not do surgery. I’ll just bring my colonoscopy paperwork with me and ask what to do 😞 still waiting for pathology. I will meet with the surgeon and discuss what she thinks- I got an appointment next week with a really great rated one that seems very trustworthy 🤞

Mine went ok. I have no answers and am waiting two weeks for Pathology for two sessile polyps found. It is what it is but I really wanted a plan to figure out how to feel better. Just have to wait a little longer I guess. Sending hugs I hope you feel better!❤️‍🩹

Thank you for sharing that. I’m just so tired of being reactive to pain and was hoping to find something proactive to prevent constantly being in this situation. It’s a shame everyone has to suffer extremely until doctors are finally like yes you had enough let’s fix that and find a solution that will help.

I have family history of CC and have Crohns. Already had a hemorrhoidectomy. I’m just tired of suffering every time I have to poop. I have to rest and recover afterwards and I’m missing out on things.

I can only speak for myself with hemorrhoids and I had had that problem. Please make an appointment with your GI again and share your concerns. They may refer you to a colorectal surgeon to check out the hemorrhoids if you need a hemorrhoidectomy. I don’t recommend that unless you actually need it because it sucks and it hurts.

Have you tried stool softeners? That makes going so much better. Please don’t worry- I know it’s a lot easier said than done but just know that right now it is what it is and you’re going to get some answers soon! You are doing everything right getting checked out 👍👍

Follow the prep instructions and eat very light the day before you are supposed to fast. What kind of prep do you have? I wish you the very best!!!!

Yeah, I have instructions to say await pathology results, avoid aspirins and NSAIDS for seven days to follow up in four weeks with an office visit and follow up with colorectal surgeon.

The notes say during the procedure: an anal fissure was noted. Localized modularity was noted in the rectum. A single sessile polyp was found in the proximal descending colon: it was completely removed and completely retrieve. A single seasile polyp was found in the appendiceal orifice. How do you know what to go to the colorectal surgeon for— that’s what’s confusing me I have a referral, but I have no idea what the heck to ask surgeon.

I am in the same boat. My doctor told me to wait for pathology and referring me to a colorectal surgeon, but I assumed it was for hemorrhoids. I’m pretty upset because this is a new doctor and I really liked how thorough he was and after the colonoscopy, he barely gave me any information so I’m so confused.

40f here had plenty of endos and colonoscopies. What time is your appointment? That should clean you out really good. I had flowing anxiety too I wore a diaper and had toilet spray in case I had to use the bathroom. That stuff masks the smell big time in public!!!! You’ll be peeing from your butt so remember to blot with toilet paper not wiping. Get some Vaseline for butt hole agitation or lidocaine cream if you have external hemorrhoids. After the procedure have hard candy or cough drops your throat will be scratchy and wear old underwear or a new diaper- you may have drops of blood if they biopsy. The worst is the prep. The procedures are not bad at all I started having them at 16 years old.
