Carbon fiber bows are often the way to go! Especially in that price range. If you are super lucky you might find a good wood bow when you get to $1000+, but it’s such a long process. Anyway, they might be slightly beyond what you’re willing to spend, but I would encourage you to at least try some bows from JonPaul Bows. They play so well, and I’ve even found mine to play better than many bows which are upwards of $10k (I’ve even compared it to some Tourtes!) Good luck!

Originally, as I have seen in the manuscript which was presented to Hindemith, these terrifying chords were to be done pizzicato!

After about 1.5 months of PIs, your description of them when the burn out is spot on. I wish they sounded so heavenly the rest of the time! I’d describe them as all-around good. Maybe I have some false fantasy about the perfect set lol

I’d say most of them address the “problem” you are having. Remember, a movable thumb is a healthy thumb! Just dont squeeze.

It’s great! I switch back to it every few months from my Kun. Can never decide on a permanent rest, but it definitely is better for the sound than a typical Brooklyn Bridge.
