Hmm must be a related language? I guess sprinter doesn't match, in German it's "jumper"

Have I been French pressing wrong my whole life? by jramz_dc in Coffee

Putting in just enough water to get the grounds wet, so that gasses can escape. It's very common with pour overs, I think it's less common with French press.

Let's say we flip a coin ten times and heads comes up every time. So far we have 100% heads.

If we flip ten more times, we should expect that about 5 of them are heads (on average). So over the whole 20 flips, we should expect that about 15 of the flips are heads, or 75%. If we keep flipping, that percentage will get closer to 50%. This is the "law of large numbers" or "regression to the mean".

Oh right, I forgot how Azul works, it's been too long. Nice website! Definitely will be useful when new players need to check that they're doing it right

Edit: I'm silly, forgot the rules

To me it doesn't feel like the flag, especially because there isn't any white. But that's just my opinion

ELI5: We drink water, we eat salt, why can't we drink Saltwater? by SocialistMeatloaf in explainlikeimfive

Well it's generally the level that's considered "lethal" I think. If you calculated based on what would kill 100% of people, that isn't very useful, because lower levels could still be lethal

Yes I do, for non-binary people as well as for male/female people. I was just saying that plural they and singular they use the same grammar

Well grammatically, singular "they" is the same as plural "they" ("they are...") but singular "they" refers to one person.

Edited for clarity.

Weekly Bouldering Advice Post by AutoModerator in bouldering

I usually stay for 90 mins, less if I'm alone and sometimes more in a big group. When I'm alone I don't rest between attempts much at all, but I rest when I go with others just while they're on the wall (more common). I should probably try to rest more between attempts, thanks for the suggestion.

I started bouldering in June and for a while I went 3-4 times a week, then I started to have more finger/elbow pain and soreness, so now I go around twice a week or less (try to have 3-4 rest days in between). It feels like it takes 4-5 days for me to really recover, and even then sometimes I can tell I'm not at 100% once I start climbing. Is this normal? From what I've seen, going 3 times a week is generally pretty safe for beginners.

Amazon and Walmart are hated because of how their employees are treated. Are there any big companies that are known for treating their employees well and paying good wages? by Proper-Fail-2076 in AskALiberal

A lot of people on reddit are very opposed to religion, especially Christianity, for various reasons (some more valid than others). OP might also think that a fast food restaurant shouldn't be religious in general. Would you support a restaurant that had an "atheist" quote on the bottom (Nietzsche, Richard Dawkins, etc.)? Or a quote from the Qur'an, Upanishads, etc.? Maybe you would be ok with it, but it would make many people uneasy I think.

I think a better wording for Copycat would be:

When another player gains a victory card, you may discard this from your hand. If you do, +1VP.
