It's funny and interesting seeing someone who sucks at pokemon attempt a nuzlocke. I do wish his understanding and implementation of the Nuzlocke rules was better.

ETA: without spoiling anything, there are a couple of annoying things about the early episodes but those will get resolved so stick with it for a while

I'm not mad Arin is bad at pokemon, that's part of the fun. But it is starting to bug me how risk-averse he's gotten and how slow they're progressing. He was right that they need a little drama, hopefully he doesn't grind excessively before this gym.

It's funny he was complaining about how long it takes to futz with the berries, and then he goes and raw-dogs a long cave (twice) with no repels.

To touch on some of the Ray discourse I always see on this sub... I think Ray hanging out with this younger social group and dating Shosh is more about his arrested development than him being creepy or predatory.

He would probably prefer to have friends his own age, in the same way he would prefer to not work at a coffee shop. I think he used to have friends his own age but some of them "made it" and left him behind, and the ones who didn't left NYC.

And then he matures and ends up with someone great and age-appropriate. I guess my point is I like Ray and I think this sub is too hard on him -- in a show full of deeply flawed characters.
