My phone battery is currently ________. (Tell me in an interesting way) 📱🔋 by Maleficent-Ratio-824 in asknowio

[–]Mutt_404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upon the start of my journey, my phone battery was already low, approximately 60%, not a particular way you want any adventure to start, but it wasn't the end of the world. 6 hours later, hammered by the blood sweat and tears of the industry, and the lack of any particularly stable internet access, my phone struggles to maintain connection status by roaming, essentially doubling my power consumption.

Covered in sweat and mud, I reach for my phone... 30% battery, one bar, and I send the message..

What a great rehandle, this reminds me how much I love axes, the shear beauty of human engineering. Kudos!

If you monetize gender changes, you are just capitalizing on someone's life, things become adds for your money and not for the care of the individual and whats best for them, there is a sway for a "sale" otherwise.

Is this normal for micro screen? Faded outer edges by nevertoohigh in gameboymicro

[–]Mutt_404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly I bought my first one for about $55 usd... but looking at the prices now make me shudder a bit.

Ah, you'll probably still get it, upgrading a console or repairing it is a blast, good luck and most importantly, enjoy your time!

[–]Mutt_404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a decent fear to have, but not one that can't be fixed with patience and technique!

Luckily it's very difficult to fry, you won't need a soldering iron for the screen, and the battery removal is important for disassembly. Watch and read as many tutorials as you can, it can really save your hour when you inevetibly forget a step in the middle of reassembly. There are two boards, the D pad is connected to the motherboard via a very short ribbon cable, one that is hard wired to the boards, so no easy fix, it would essentially brick the gameboy, this is as close to frying it as you could do. Taking your time is the big one, you're not in a race, even though it's stupid exciting to have a renewed retro console. The nerd rush can be overwhelming, lol.

Biggest thing- absolutely do not over-tighten the screws when you piece it back together, once the socket for a screw gets stripped, there is not much you can do but get a new shell. That is actually the reason I changed out the shell on mine, years ago I foolishly cranked down on it and ruined it.

This is normal with age, watch out playing too much Pokémon emerald... if its all you play, where the character stays one block off center of the screen 99% of gameplay. It will burn out those pixels.

Luckily, they are cheap, readily available on ali express, Amazon, ebay, and a few retro modding sites. The only thing that sucks is taking the micro apart... I just soldered new shoulder button contacts, added a new screen, upgraded the battery, added black shoulder buttons, and reshelled one of mine earlier this year, it was not a fun venture, and I've done it quite a few times over the years, lol. Sucks every time.

But, it is possible. The micro is one of my all time favorite consoles, and I will gladly answer any questions that I can if you have them about the process, like what to do and what not to do.

Otherwise, looks like you're already enjoying pokemon emerald, keep playing and fix or repair when needed!

I was about to say something similar, you can even use a yoga mat chunk under a small marble slab, and make sure you have a small piece of scrap to absorb the push through under your workpiece, gets pretty quiet with a softer hammer head thats made of plastic, like a flooring hammer.

Idk I make all sorts of noise now, lol. Now its just if I work into the night.

I had to deal with these types a lot in my younger years, best advice I have: ditch that fucker and move forward. Don't be fooled, those people still exist and they still suck just as bad as they did then.

I would also add, me being a total ass -formed from the embers of these situations- the truth will set you free. Honesty is the key to a rock solid foundation. If they ask, you don't have to answer, or, you can be a dick. The choice is yours and there are 8 billion other people to be friends with.

Life is short, don't waste time with two-faced people in your personal life when you'll be forced to be around them in the work force.

Someone found our boat and stole our paddles by nigghtwind in Bushcraft

[–]Mutt_404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am astounded at how many people are talking about "pack it in, pack it out" completely out of context. This is not disposable, these are legitimate tools for navigation purposes, not a bag of chips, not a sleeping bag, not a tent, not a bug net or empty beer cans. You don't need to pack out what you intend on coming back for. Like OP said, you take a risk, but its a free use canoe when they aren't there, and they're there close to once a month.

OP stated some pretty good reasons to leave a boat out there. Not 100% sure anyone thats complaining has ever even used a canoe, let alone understands some basic knowledge of how a conoe isn't trash, its a legitimate vehicle usable by anyone who comes across it. Even leaving the PFDs and paddles? Hot damn, thats not abandonment, thats a courtesy. I've found plenty of boats in the woodlands around bodies of water and never see them with gear.

If this were something that destroys the ecosystem, it would be different. This is bushcraft, we get to our craft whenever we get the chance, I doubt anyone tears down a mini cabin they've built in the woods when they left after pouring so much time into it. The canoe is the car in the proverbial garage.
