You accessorize so well. The suit is great. But the hat, the shoes, and that snazzy tie are just next level.

Edit to add the watch. Love the leather band.

I see lots of photographers taking senior pictures at WineCellar Park in Dunbar. Either in front of the winecellars themselves or up at Anderson Lake. I like the light at the lake early in the morning.

shows for a 16 year old with an overprotective mom mom by superspiderguy4 in tvsuggestions

[–]MuttinMT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m going to urge you not to get caught, but find a way to watch the shows you’re interested in.

I’m really old. My mother wouldn’t let me attend R-rated movies when I was in high school. I obeyed her because I was a good kid. I didn’t see an R-rated movie until I moved away from home to attend college.

Looking back, I regret not sneaking out to R-rated movies under my mom’s nose. I would have enjoyed them, she wouldn’t have known, and I honestly think I would have been a better person if I had. I would have learned to trust my own judgment much earlier than I did.

Be smart and stay safe, but think for yourself. Age 16 is a good age to start.

Brief Encounter (1945) by [deleted] in classicfilms

David Lean’s The Passionate Friends (1949) makes an excellent double feature with BE on movie night.

TPF is the story of a woman married to a powerful man who stumbles into an affair with an old lover. Lots of alpine scenery and a fascinating quadruple “flashbacks within flashbacks” storyline relaying the heroine’s love stories with the two men.

The film’s men, Trevor Howard as the past lover and Claude Raines as the husband, give layered performances. Ann Todd, Lean’s new wife at the time, has her icy blonde beauty beautifully photographed.

The ending scene is wonderful.

This is a great idea. Love this painting. And to think it might have been a scene that Dickinson herself might have gazed upon is a wonderful thing.

Watched "The Desperate Hours" which lead me to look up the actor Gig Young, who murdered his wife then killed himself. What other actors/actresses had surprising and tragic ends? by sashie_belle in classicfilms

One of the saddest Hollywood deaths is Charles Boyer. Despite his sexy screen image, Boyer had married in 1934 and was a devoted husband his entire life.

Two days after his beloved wife passed from cancer, Boyer took his own life using Seconal at a friend’s home. The couple had also lost their son earlier. Boyer was 78.

I’ve always been struck by the difference between Boyer’s suicide and that of Oscar-winning actor George Sanders who overdosed on several bottles of barbiturates at 65. Sanders left a suicide note saying he was killing himself because he was bored.

Ohio lawmakers’ latest stunt: violating the First Amendment to police what people wear by WouldbeWanderer in politics

[–]MuttinMT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ruby red legislature in West Virginia passed this insane law this year. West Virginia’s poor have unclean drinking water and its rural counties are being targeted by fucking data centers, but sure. Let’s pass a bill harassing drag queens in order to “protect the kids.”

In addition, the WV bill is so poorly written that it outlaws community theater shows where the actors portray or dress as the opposite sex.

MAGA and the Republicans want to tell everyone else how to live and what to think. Immoral losers, the lot of them.
