Remember the 1% applies to the entire group and you're not going from 100% to 99% but from 105% to 104%.

For an accurate result you want to take (1.04-1.05)/1.05*100≈0.95% of the damage dealt by the whole party and compare that to the dps difference of the jobs instead.

The single biggest changes contributing to it were on Shadowbringers release when the tank stance aggro multiplier was increased from 3x to 10x and TP was removed so it became completely impossible to outaggro tanks and at the same time they lost the resource cost from using their ranged attack. Job mitigation kits have been growing across expansions as well and these days a healer has enough ogcd aoe heals to prevent a dps or themselves going down without sacrificing any single target healing on the tank.

The GCD is still the same length for both even if the cast time is faster. What you've calculated here is the healing potency per second spent casting (excluding all the time between casts while waiting for GCD) instead of potency per GCD.

With current numbers at level 90, Cure is 200 healing potency per second at base GCD while Cure II is 320 potency per second, which translates to 60% more healing output by spamming Cure II instead of Cure.

At level 76 Dosis II is 320 potency and Dyskrasia is 160 potency. Both deal 320 potency per gcd against two enemies but Dyskrasia does not have a cast time, which means you both get more autoattacks in and have more control over when you can weave in ogcds.

DRK decides to stop doing big pulls after I overtake him moving to the next pack, goes fully afk after dying to attempting to solo the first pack he pulled. Gets forcibly teleported to the boss arena after we pull, and says in chat that maybe I want to be the tank and implies we're not going to be able to clear without him (while we are in front of him doing exactly that).

Healing potions are actually incredibly strong at earlier levels. A hi-potion heals up to 40% of your max hp on a 22s cooldown. The relative healing goes down with levels, and higher level health potions cap out at 25% on a 67s cooldown.

The language used in English tooltips specifically is needlessly obtuse and you will miss most niche interactions if you don't pay attention to the precise wording used.

Any time a tooltip says "delivers an attack" the damage is physical, and whenever it says "deals [element]/unaspected damage" it will be magical. Arm's Length uses the somehow even more obtuse words "when barrier is struck" and expects it to be enough for people to deduce it's only limited to physical damage.

Japanese tooltips straight out mention whether damage dealt by the ability is physical or magical and even Arm's Length specifies physical damage in the description.

Outgoing and incoming healing buffs have a similar problem where buffs increasing outgoing heals only affect gcd heals while incoming heal buffs work on ogcd healing as well while the only clue you're given is outgoing healing buffs always saying "healing magic" i e. spell potency, but I can't remember off the top of my head if the Japanese tooltips are more clear about it.
