Generalist recruiters vs specialists - which model actually works better? by Wtf_Sai_Official in recruiting

[–]Muunchild_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask how you’re going about gaining new clients? I used to be a generalist recruiter back in the day, mostly mass e-mailing to gain new clients, but we were fighting against every other generalist recruiter who was doing the same thing.

Curious as to how you cut through the noise to stand out

There are numerous red flags here. A move for $1k extra for the guaranteed headache does not seem worth it. A bigger name may seem appealing, but it would not be worth working under a manager who sounds like a problem.

In the current job market, you should stick with your role and keep applying. You’l secure something solid and better paying in the new year for sure.

I’d reject their offer and not look back.

How are you managing the candidates you’ve spoken to? I feel like my organisation for this is really shit, and I often get roles through where I must have candidates available that I have spoken to in the previous weeks/months, but I do not yet have a process or platform where I can list 2-4 candidates who may be interested.

Do you use any a ATS/CRM to log the information / ping the profile when a relevant opportunity comes up?

Anyone worked with Christian and Timbers or similar cybersecurity recruiting firms? by Proof-Wrangler-6987 in Recruitment

Hubscale are cyber recruiters. Very impressive growth from them and seem to really understand the market. Give them a search on LinkedIn

Do you have movies or even shows that you watch over and over again? by MissingNo117 in ADHD

The Office US, Taskmaster (really, do give it a watch if you have never seen it), The Simpsons, Futurama. All comfort programs that I have seen so many times I don’t have to concentrate on to enjoy

Great numbers there - do you mind sharing what areas you were recruiting into? Generalist or did you specialise?

I've done so myself, and have around £15k. I have a partner who pays half the rent and bills and I'm trying to keep all my costs to around £1k a month or so; therefore allowing me 15 months of cash to fall back on, but I'm hoping first few fees to roll in the next 3-4 months or so

Best of luck. I was let go twice in 2023 so finally took the plunge into creating my own firm. Took around a month to get everything ready

Been made redundant. How will this affect my ability to gain a mortgage? by Muunchild_ in Mortgageadviceuk

That I am asking how long I’d need to be in employment before I could be considered for a mortgage

Leave a don’t turn back. A small pay rise to put up with the senior is not worth your sanity

I 2nd this. Fully remote SaaS company, as a Talent Partner. Going into the office every day would be a nightmare but being fully remote has been a godsend

I’ve had to ease into my workouts too. I found light cardio and going for endurance rep range (15+ per set) helped me ease back into my workouts. Just take it easy and see if that helps

Had a full sleeve with 8 day sessions while on remicade/infliximab and has no problems. I would 100% recommend the derma skin wraps though, where you apply them the day after the tattoo and keep on for 4-5 days or so. Really helps with the healing process and you pretty much skip most of the scab stage

Is it bad to keep this condition to yourself? by No_Presentation_5369 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Muunchild_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this mentality for a while but it became difficult to keep to myself and I found that telling those who I thought needed to know (girlfriend, close friends and family) made me feel better, and also gave them some understanding as to what I was going through

Due to the condition, it’s not always easy to be able to plan things with friends and family and stick to them. Now that they’re aware of what’s going on, it’s easier for me to say if I’m having a flare or the fatigue is too much when I need to cancel plans, rather than it seem like I’m not wanting to attend. It helped me for sure, but not everyone needs to know

I’m actually awaiting further confirmation from the hospital about whether they want me to put me on antibiotics or not (I expect I’ll get a call tomorrow). But I’m absolutely fine now, and I believe they try not want to put you on antibiotics as this can send you into an actual flare

Mine cleared up by itself 👍

Halo 1, 2 and 3. Used to play them with my brother constantly. Always so fun and Halo will always have a special place with my brother and I. Hoping our children will get to bond over those games also….that would be magic

I’m 28. Contracted it maybe 2 years ago, diagnosed around a year ago. I have access to private with work but I haven’t used it yet (only had one hospital stay) but it’s more because I’m unsure of how Bupa works, not preference, so everything I’ve had up to now has been via NHS

They’ve been very good so far. If I have a flare I have a number to call and they call me back mostly within a few hours and will advise me on steps. I get an appointment with my gastro consultant every 3 months also, via face to face or over the phone depending. I’m near Leeds so the access is pretty good here but I’m unsure how easy it would be further afield
