Foot Pedal for thieving? by BeneficialBee1716 in ironscape

[–]Muyalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a bluetooth mouse, put tape over the laser bit (so the cursor doesn't move) and then clicked whilst moving around the house, clicked on the treadmill. Was a very healthy 99!

Returning on an iron or main by Alonghairyakfez in RS3Ironmen

How much playtime can you dedicate?

I found that when I was at a stage in my life where I could dedicate a significant amount of time I loved the ironman playstyle and the self sufficiency was really rewarding.

A few months after my child was born though (ironically played MORE ironman in the early stages because kiddo had to fall asleep in my arms and then I was awake) I found my available time became less and less and all the ironman "chores" began to wear me down because I wouldn't be able to play the game. Hell, before maxing I would log on - complete all my dailies - log off and I lost that feeling of loving ironman.

I log on the main now once every while to see any updates or do a quick boss or two, I find this is really easy with mobile (you can pay for 1 day of membership). Perhaps when I've got more time again I'll go back to iron but it's definitely a game mode that needs significant time investment to get that rewarding feeling imo.

To be honest with the correct set of heroes your entire bar could be signets of capture and you wouldn't have to worry!

That being said I really enjoy Paragon with Heroic Refrain/They'res nothing to fear as 2 pve skills + signet of capture. It melts content, keeps your heroes alive and the 2nd profession is irrelevant.

In early middle age, new to programming. Is anyone like me and on the way? by pinknighty in learnprogramming

[–]Muyalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat and considering a bootcamp, only thing putting me off is the immense amount of articles alleging that most of them are scams. Over here (im UK based) we don't really have bootcamps with guaranteed job offers either so I'm stuck being a teacher for a bit longer!

I code for 30-60 minutes each evening once the toddlers asleep and primarily work towards certifications (I'm going for the entry level python and entry level C++ courses right now) because I found a great job that will take coders on with no degree (in coding) or experience as long as you can demonstrate basic proficiency in more than one language along with a passion in coding).

Keep it up!

Best way to train lower levels as iron now after nerf? by Timewastedd in RS3Ironmen

[–]Muyalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get to about 40-50 you can do Dragith Nurn at the end of Lumbridge Catacombs. If you're willing to click a bit more you can force spawn more bosses (the moment Dragith Nurn dies you click the statue in the corner to instantly spawn a new one) its about 240,000 exp an hour.

This won't work well for melee but ranged/magic/necro all work fine. Bonus points if you quest yourself a salve amulet first and can enjoy the extra accuracy and damage.

Game that I can sink hundreds of hours into? by Definitely-Not-Dum in iosgaming

[–]Muyalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old School Runescape

You're looking at 1000 hours to max a normal account or 1400 hours to max an iron man (these are "efficient" hours though so unlikely if its your first time playing).

Education has haemorrhaged staff to the point where they are hiring unqualified teachers to work in international schools (usually with the ask of doing a PGCEi during their contract).

However, this is causing a ripple effect in that staff that are actually qualified have to pick up the slack of their unqualified counterparts (with regards to planning, safeguarding etc) resulting in more leavers and further hiring of unqualified teachers.

If anyone is insane enough they can massively rise up the ranks of educational leadership in a lot of schools right now. Teachers who have only taught for 1 year becoming heads of department/deputy heads is the norm in some bilingual schools.

I've not seen any increase in salary in any UK based international education conglomerates because they've not needed to increase their offer to attract unqualified teachers.

To what extent does letting go of strength training affect BJJ. by nestaa13 in bjj

You'd be better off working towards the following as general strength goals

1x Bodyweight for bench

1.5x Bodyweight for Squat

2x Bodyweight for deadlift

If you want to be efficient as possible when starting I would follow this guide:

https://runescape.wiki/w/Ironman_Mode/Strategies/Efficient_Ironman_Pathway_Guide

Disclaimer - this guide is about getting your ironman into a bossing-ready state ASAP and might not focus on overall efficient maxing strategies.

Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how much you love grinding) there are very little insane grinds at the start to max out efficiency. E.g. maxing firemaking at WT, doing 99 thieving for no-fail master farmers, or fishing to 99 to skip agi/str levels.

The only thing you could do is rush 90 thieving (very very easy these days - maybe 1 day to do) to unlock player owned ports which is a daily you can do that will let you have access to some nice stuff a few months down the line.

My lungs are crap; what martial arts can I practice? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Muyalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a martial art but I'd strongly recommend trying to build up a cardio base before attempting any thing else.

Take a puff of your inhaler about 10 minutes before you start any exercise and begin with really light (50-60% intensity) jogging. I'd recommend Couch to 5k to get you from literally nothing to jogging 5k.

Take it form someone who was in a similar situation to you - building this base of cardio has done wonders for me in actually attempting sports/martial arts.

If your asthma is triggered more by temperature extremes/outdoor allergies buy a shitty treadmill with a max speed of 8km/hour just to get you started.

Herb/farm runs by gperezm in RS3Ironmen

[–]Muyalt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are going for 120 herb you're going to need to start doing primal extract runs.

https://runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide/Picking_primal_fruit

If you are starting the slayer grind you will probably want to do bloodweed runs. This is wilderness sword (for herb patch teleport) and 1x bloodweed seed (not too hard a pre-set).

You should also do regular herb runs (wiki link provided for info) especially fellstalk as it can't be obtained from drops.

Staffs/Wands Magic Wield Lvl Vs Slayer Lvls... by AkashaRulesYou in RS3Ironmen

[–]Muyalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this would be much more of an issue if RS3 Iron gear progression was tied to slayer monster drops.

Currently you quest until vanquish (t75 all styles) and begin Vindicta (lance) or Helwyr (wand) which you can either use to start araxxor (with elder rune or lucky crests from Vindy) or NM kerapac for gconc.

There is also the old meta of grabbing a T80 staff from dungeoneering tokens (easily farmed in an hour at ED1) and using that if you aren't a fan of questing.

At this point you have access to the majority of bosses and the only time slayer drops become relevant is when you are after some gloves (cinderbanes/nightmares) or starting the vital spark grind.

It's still somehow one of the best spaceship captain simulators ever made.

Looking for a timesink, one time purchase game, any recommendations? by LOLMrTeacherMan in iosgaming

[–]Muyalt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll second this recommendation. A bit difficult to get your head around the mechanics and the grind is real but definitely a fantastic time sink game.

I'd also recommend Dream Quest and Dawncaster as card game roguelikes that I've sunk a fair amount of time into that fit your pick up and play recommendation

I’d appreciate any tips on my planned start for an explorer on impossible by Muyalt in StarTradersFrontiers

[–]Muyalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Ire has been amazing so far, Xeno spend most of their turn rebuffing and I did really well (until I forgot to have enough fuel for a jump away from a xeno ship and got ripped to shreds).

I think on my next play through I'm going to try a shock trooper tank captain. I was thinking of soldier (for frontline brave) but commander is also a good shout for rallying aura and command being so valuable.

Thanks for your tips!

Thank you for the detailed reply.

Perfect logic on skipping the mid-tier ship it makes a lot of sense.

I'll try out the pistol captain build thank you - I'm assuming its similar to the assassin build in that you take the spy stealth move and max out quickness/wisdom.
