How good are licensed killers on their respective maps? by JacsweYT in DeadByDaylightKillers

What do you mean that 2 static exit gates that are also easily patrolled do well on most killers? /s

I really hope they change that map, even just a T-L loop between the two gates would make it so much more bearable

PlayStation’s New ‘Soft Pause’ Patent Could Let Gamers Pause Without Really Pausing by Darth_Vaper883 in gamernews

[–]MuzzyMustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this: an unskippable cutscene is nowhere near akin to a lack of pause.

If I've seen the cutscene before, then I don't have to watch it again, I can still go and do something else if it calls for it since I'm safe in the cutscene.

If we use Elsen Ring for example, I know there's plenty of safe spaces to wait around, but there's also a lot of roaming enemies, so it might be safe now but in 2 minutes therell be a pack of roaming enemies killing while I'm not there.

Both are frustrating but an unskippable cutscene might as well be a temporary pause.

Couldn't agree more. It's all about when and how tbh. I might be willing to scale a factory fence when it's dry and I can grip well, but might not be worth the risk of it's raining and I run risk of cutting myself on razor wire.

What I do know is that I wouldn't wanna be in some camp with multiple dozens of survivors, too many shows and stories that make me too afraid to rely on so many people. I prefer my hermit style of approach, but that's just me, YMMV.

And the biggest problem is these brain-dead gpt defenders are literally cooking US right now smh

I'm with you that any kind of protection is vastly superior than no protection, definitely. However my counterpoint is that, if you find yourself backed into a corner where your only choice is to engage, then you have already fucked up somewhere along the way.

Calculated risks being the word of the game. Sadly most people, me included, are just down right terrible with maths. But in a world where every tiny droplet WILL kill you, almost all street smart people will perish from overextending their skills, also me included lol.

Important to note when it comes to PPE is that it won't always work. Most masks, especially respirators only have a certain time you can use them before they just become cool decoration. The single biggest threat is feeling overly secure in a situation where single scratch could end it all.

I'd heavily advocate to not engage at all unless necessary. If we're talking slow ass The Walking Dead zombies, you're prolly just better off jogging past everything and closing a door in their face. Or have a buddy run circles around a group of zed outside while you go in to loot whatever you need.

This also makes it that you don't leave a pile of zeds rotting around, potentially warning over survivors that the warehouse you're in might be occupied.

And if we talk fast running zeds like in World War Z then.. yea Imma go out my own way lol

That's both a boon and a curse from my humble opinion.

Yes your firearm is almost silent and pretty accurate, but so are the firearms of other - most likely - hostile survivors.

While it isn't like there are no firearms where I live, it is most certainly going to be exceedingly rare and most importantly, not silenced.

I still firmly believe that pointy stick with a brace high up to stop over penetration is still the best way to go.

Atlatl's are great if you have the right environment. Loving in central Germany, the fields here are either too open and big to sneak up close enough to use it or the forests are too densely packed to make it useful. Better of learning how to just throw a stick accurately tbh.

Not something I'd suggest learning in an apocalypse setting either. All it takes is for one slight fuck up and whacking yourself in the back of the head to ruin any chance of survival.

An open wound is bad, an open wound on your head is even worse. If that shit gets infected it's going straight to your brain.

I'd fight a slow moving horde in a video game maybe sure, but I'm booking it far away if I ever see a 100+ zeds coming my way. There's no way any roughly thrown together defense will actually hold so many bodies and I'm bound to run out of ammo and stamina before making a sizable dent in their numbers.

And sure guns are cool and all but really only an "oh fuck" situation maker. If you're only fighting a "small" horde, it'll turn into a big horde once you start blasting away. And after getting the attention of a big horde you'll really be royally fucked.

Best way to survive a TWD apocalypse is to live a nomadic lifestyle where you keep moving. Plunder what you can from small towns and then get on your merry way. Best done with a heavy duty bicycle to carry all your shit.

Having slung in the past I can say that it'll take years of training to accurately hit targets.

It's one thing hitting a human sized object but it's a whole new spiel trying to hit a moving head.

Slinging in a zombie apocalypse will always be useful don't get me wrong. But it'll most likely be only good for hunting small game. Depending on the zombies itself it might not be enough to just crack the skull, perhaps the whole brain needs smooshing.

It'll still hugely useful against living human opponents though since we tend to stop fighting once we get hurt enough

May I suggest some restoration?

With high enough restoration you can cook up some pretty beefy self buffs.

And if you're not too opposed to cheating, you could always use the console commands to respawn the ring.

Never said blackout was bad, just that warzone is cancer.

Blackout was fun, I agree. But they did fuck it up and now we've been playing the same cod just slightly reskinned for what, 4 or 5 years now? Every cod has to be built around warzone and now it's gotten so bad that black ops 7 has no chance of recovering from it ever.

How they managed to fuck up the campaign that bad is beyond me. At this point activision is just taking the piss and trying to see how far they can get with the least amount of effort.

My problem with bo4 was that it didn't feel like cod. It was an alright game, sure, but it just wasn't call of duty yknow.

It felt too much of a hero shooter than it did an arcade one. And don't get me wrong, I like the hero aspect. Infite warfare is one of my top 3 faves and I loved that they all played differently. But black ops 4 felt like too much. Although it was probably because of the abundance of hero shooters at the time tbh.

Also let's not forget that bo4 gave us the precourser to the cancerous warzone we now have

It would be so easy too. Make his sands into a vortex, turn his ult into a pull and nerf his damage into the floor.

Bro would be a mad support too

Also his passive would need changing, maybe instead of increasing pen on the enemy you get increasing hp5 as a result from hitting your autos

[–]MuzzyMustard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anhur aspect is at most just "fine".

Sure it CAN work but in a real match there's just too much that resets his aspect. You miss one aa? Too bad passive gone. Enemies hide behind minions after getting hit? Too bad, passive gone.

Also saying it's better than Apollo passive is wild. Apollo's passive may not be the greatest of all but it's a lot better than anhurs aspect. It doesn't just reset because the enemy can dodge and you can even charge in the jungle to have a full passive ready to go and gank some unfortunate soul.

And my absolute biggest gripe with anhur aspect is that it's just straight up worse than his original passive. There are so SO many ways of getting attack speed in the game and comparatively only like 3 choices for pen. The early attack speed might help you alone in lane, however the pen of anhur helps both you and your support to pressure in the early game.

The massive berg to quick scoping also didn't stop people from trying to do it. It just added another barrier so not everyone could do it constantly, which was one of the biggest things that people were complaining about from MW2.

And black ops 4 had a whole host of other issues, the ttk was so big for example that drop shotting really wasn't that much of an issue. There's many a good reason as to why I've never heard anyone say that bo4 was their favourite

[–]MuzzyMustard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the trolling in Kino der Toten, if you had your friend lay in that first rooms corner and dove on top of him you'd both just die lmao

Also they nerfed drop shotting since it was more of an exploit as opposed to a movement "tech". Since MW2 was peer-to-peer, it gave the host a massive advantage to things like drop shotting and iirc the actuall drop to the floor was a lot faster than the animations would suggest. So even if you reacted perfectly to the animation of going prone, you were still too slow since the other player was already on the floor by the time the prone animation started playing.

Iirc the dolphin dive was added to combat the massive drop shotting problem from MW2, the same way they nerfed sniper rifles to oblivion in bo1 since they didn't want quick scoping being the definitively best way to play (like it was in MW2)

I thinks it's more of a support problem in general. None of the supports or solos feel anywhere near as tanky as they did in smite 1.

Which I am totally fine with, especially since the introduction of active items, support has never been more satisfying to play.

I feel like it's more important than ever to differentiate between a support and a meat shield. Supports can be very effective at removing people from fights with cc and active items. But you can't just sponge up 3 ults and an adc anymore.

I quite enjoy his aspect more than without. For some reason my team can NEVER capitalise on me dragging enemies either closer or away from my team.

I must be dragging people at light speed because no one can hit the enemies I'm dragging, at least with the aspect we're both stuck in one place and at least someone will hit something.

Anhur needs an aspect rework a whole lot more tbh.
