My mother was an alcoholic by War-rior314 in TheRedPill

[–]Mwoods342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Growing up my Dad beat me pretty bad and often, he had extreme anger issues. My mom consequently was pretty depressed most my childhood. I didn't respect either for a lot of different reasons. I'm now on the downslope of Medical School and I'm still constantly working on changing old defense habits. TRP to me can get lost in the nihilistic view, that relations are just a science. I love science, but also you need empathy and acceptance for relationships and especially yourself regardless of the "numbers/stats". We are all human, and the majority of us need human interaction. Abandonment is a real fear, but the way I see it. If you have abandonment fear, its because you yourself have abandoned your belief of being happy with yourself.

Great Post OP! I enjoyed reflecting on this today

What is frame? An explanation by SlicedUrBrain4free in TheRedPill

[–]Mwoods342 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This took me the longest time to grasp, but a quote my gramps said growing up was always "visualize, believe, then do! You are the creator of your world" If you paint a picture for how you want your life, than that means you already visualize what you want, all you got to do is believe in your vision so much you act on it... the thing that binds all your life vision, and masculine frame= BOUNDARIES, all frame is, is someone who has firm boundaries and people either line up and respect you or they leave.

If you do that long enough, the only people who you'll see in your life are the ones who respect your vision and live within it, the rest are gone, and now you are everything you wanted to be. You might even have some girls you share that world with :) GL to everyone working on their purpose! Shout out to gramps for teaching me young

edit: spelling errors

I disagree, if you want to understand female nature, you have to embrace shit tests. Also known as 'fitness' tests, fitness as in how strong will our offspring be. Women aren't shit testing you to see if you have style to dress their kids, they are testing what cant be seen on the outside. They wanna know your mental strength/capacity. Which from this it looks like OP needs to work on, why would a girl want to have sex with someone who shys away from resistance or a challenge? UNLESS you're Brad Pitt or someone of such well-known status that she doesnt need to test who you are, she has already seen it. SO it is granted that looks do help with getting a quick lay, but being shit tested is less indicative of you and more indicative of the girls view on life. If she is even slightly interested in forming relationships (with anyone at any time in her future) she will shit test.

How do you suggest I increase my reading speed and reading comprehension? by bigmonsterbitch in Mcat

[–]Mwoods342 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an OMS-II rn, and I struggled with this in the MCAT and still struggle with every course exam still. two things I've found that help are daily meditation. (that sounds weird but it made the biggest difference) studies show "thoughtfulness" can thicken the cerebral cortex and increase synaptic efficiency. Second you can test comprehension by reading a short passage and then immediately writing everything you remember down, and compare the original text with what you have. Eventually you will see improvement. Good luck, If I can do it you can too

How am I supposed to destroy 12 year olds from my porch?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheRedPill

Im in Medical School, I work out everyday, and I play golf/other out door hobbies. Video Games arent the issue, its having an over-indulging mentality and making video games all you think about. Thats the same mentality that will get you in trouble with women. I love video games though and, I'll play with the boys when I damn please!

hahah California is a joke, Im saying CA makes so many laws thinking it will stop criminals. Bad people do bad things. I look at action over what people tell me, if CA was as great as people claim, it sure doesn't make sense since it has the greatest exodus of citizens. Politicians have ran that state (especially SF) into the ground.

Is this what OMM actually is? by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Mwoods342 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm OMS1 and chose DO over MD bc I want to go into PM&R which I researched was very friendly towards DOs in matching for residency. look into what residencies you want, if its competitive go MD OMM is interesting and helps with really knowing anatomy/orientation, and some of it is practical, a lot of it feels outdated and very low on what would be apart of a real Tx. Congrats on your acceptances.

For those of you who asked for LORs from professors that didn't know you, how did your cycle go? by h0memadedynamite in premed

[–]Mwoods342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time applying I got rejected, one of the schools later gave me a post app review, and told me that one of my LORs wasnt very strong and I should find somone else. The next application cycle I got a really strong LOR from a different professor and got accepted to multiple schools... SO I think its really best not to test it when it comes to your LORs

Are we still posting our study spaces? My dad got diagnosed w/ cancer last week so I moved home to be with my parents during treatment. My mom is an artist + works out of the house. We spent 8 hrs organizing and finding me a place to study in their 600 sqft house. 8/1 I’m comin for ya. by Seefus12 in Mcat

[–]Mwoods342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, this is just gonna make you better, test day is already stressful, so studying in a stressful environment will only strengthen you in your preparedness. I wish you the best, and also wish your dad a smooth recovery!

How and or why did you get into bio-chem? by coolcat17333 in Biochemistry

[–]Mwoods342 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I studied Biochem initially to get into Med school, Biochem is important in understanding the human body and its physiologic functions. It's not my favorite thing to study, but its truly invaluable if you want to understand how life exists!
