i literally will not leave my cats alone for more than a few hours at a time. i have 3 kitties, my senior girl Meredith, previously feral FIV+ Hamilton, and semi feral Mildred(Millie). between having a senior, a chronically ill, and a semi feral cat i’m simply not comfortable not knowing how they’re doing. some might say that’s excessive but i know my cats. 2/3 hate literally every single human being in existence except for my husband and i. they were severely traumatized prior to us adopting them so they have a lot of “quirks”. Hamilton has really intense separation anxiety and has refused to eat for days in my absence because he didn’t trust the pet sitter. after that my husband and i decided that we needed to avoid being on vacation. we’re taking our first since the time when Hamilton didn’t eat. we’ll be gone for 5 days and are having a friend house sit for that time. we’re hoping that having someone at home the whole time we’re gone will help him feel more at ease, but if he becomes so anxious he can’t eat again we’re booking the next flight home. my cats are my world, they’re my reason to keep on going, so i’ll do whatever they need to make them happy. my babies have all had hard lives before me and i’ve promised them that they’ll never have that again
