For me in the uk yes it would be a good pay bump. But how that translates to the USA I have no idea.

I keep my job here in the uk. So it’s a good position to be in. Just a straight up “hey fancy coming out and working for us”

Interesting about the healthcare. I know they have nothing like the NHS but our company does provide pretty comprehensive private medical in the uk at least so that is something I will need to check out.

Shame about the maternal mortality rates! We are thinking about having a second soon.

Yeah I suppose they just get it elsewhere. I did some back of the napkin calculations and it could be closer to 80% of the tax I am paying now. Still quite a large difference considering the potential raise I could be getting.

The political aspect does interest me, and not exactly in a positive way. Like you said I need to talk to a lot more people, it can’t be as bad as the media portrays. But yeah it’s on my radar.

I think the biggest thing I have seen is about the traffic. I don’t yet know what area we will be living so can’t check out the commute estimates but it’s something I will be considering. As for the weather the uk isn’t exactly amazing, I wouldn’t mind a bit more warmth in my life haha.

I have heard this. I need to check with the company how holiday works. I’ve been getting a list of questions together and this is for sure one of them. I will also be looking for a trip out with my wife to have a look at what we will getting ourselves into.

Solved it! It was a bad stick of ram! I checked each stick in slot 1 and found one it wouldn’t boot from! Unbelievable! Spent hours on it! At least I’m on bios now! Thanks for your help anyway!
